Run

Vio knew what would happen, Vio knew exactly what would happen to her. So, before it actually happened, Vio grabbed Devia's hand and took her running along.

Vio ignored the questions and exclamations in a confused tone that escaped Devia's lips.

What Vio knew, she had to take them both away from Ash. Stay away from those blood-sucking creatures.

Some of the people they passed, some stopped while frowning. They were confused to see Vio and Devia who ran like being chased by the devil. If they knew, if their guess was correct, Vio and Devia were indeed being chased by demons, more specifically, blood-sucking demons, aka vampires.

Vio began to pant, Devia was the same, it could be heard from her breathing that started to become irregular. However, the two continued to run, without even trying to look back. Not! Because, if Vio saw his face that turned creepy like that time, Vio wasn't quite sure, she could still use her legs to run.

In front of the hospital exit gate was visible, usually at the end of the road there were several taxis that lined up on the other side.

Without looking left or right, Vio crossed. However, after only a few steps, a ray of light dazzled Vio's eyes.

At that moment Vio realized that if it was a car, the distance was too close, it was impossible for Vio to dodge. Vio was almost sure that they would die from being hit, when an arm hugged her, accompanied by a crack and a thud.

Vio opened her eyes which had been closed, too shocked to realize what had happened.

Devia was just like Vio, frozen in place with a deathly pale face.

Someone walked out of the car with a dented hood and walked over to the two of them.

"Viona, Devia! Are you all right? Sorry, I didn't see you appear earlier." It was Shawn Grayson, their schoolmate at Shadowfall High.

Gradually Vio's consciousness began to recover from what had just happened.

"No, Shawn. We're fine," said Vio still in a quivering voice. Then Vio's eyes caught the figure, which Vio realized only this second that it was him.

"Really, Vio? Because I see your face is very pale. Incidentally the hospital is in front of us. How about we check in there first." Shawn's words pulled Vio back from staring at Ash, which Vio wasn't sure that the guy had helped them both from being hit by Shawn's car earlier.

"He is ...?" Shawn glanced at Ash.

Vio had not had time to answer, when Devia had already mentioned his name. "He, Ash Devon, is one of the new twins at school."

Shawn reached out to Ash while smiling to introduce himself. "Shawn Grayson." Shawn said his name.

Vio was still looking at Ash who didn't seem to have any intention of returning the handshake from Shawn's introduction.

Until the next second, Ash threw his fist at Shawn.

Vio screamed in surprise. Especially when Shawn, who had read Ash's movements and tried to restrain him, ended up being thrown onto the hood of the car. Shawn's windshield cracked, it looked like Ash had hit the back of his head.

Vio was about to run over to him, when a beautiful girl with a t shirt and brown hair got out of Shawn's car while singing a melodious song that Vio had never heard before. The girl's voice is very beautiful and spoils the ears of those who hear it. Vio was almost carried away by the sound, when then she realized Ash was groaning in pain, falling to his knees on the street.

The boy's hands were used to cover his ears.

What happened to Ash? Why did that sweet voice hurt him?

The sweet voiced girl walked closer and closer. Closer and closer as the pain became more and more intense for Ash.

It was all seen from the blood that was now seeping out of the boy's ears.

"STOP!" There was a scream. And it turned out to be Vio's voice screaming. Vio was confused as to why she did that. Why did she help Ash. Supposedly, Vio was happy to see Ash helpless like this. Thankfully Ash died, so Vio didn't have to deal with that guy anymore.

But, for some reason, Vio couldn't do it. Ash had helped her, for whatever reason but, Vio owed him her life.

"Stop it!" Vio spoke again when she saw Ash's body that collapsed on the road. He was still writhing in pain. It looks very painful.

"Please stop it!" This time it wasn't Vio who said it, but Shawn, who for some time had been standing beside the girl. Miraculously, managed to make the song stop instantly.
