Chapter 2 :- Mika (introduction)

(AUTHOR POV)

The country has now divided into two groups — one is the rich society, and the second is the poor society. The people of the rich society live a completely different lifestyle than the poor. And in this poor society, our main character lives.

'Ring, ring, ringgggggggg!'

The alarm clock was ringing loudly.

"Ugh, this alarm clock is so loud! I just started sleeping," he sighed and turned it off. It was 4 in the morning. Mika had to get up this early. First, he quickly did his morning routine, finished all the housework by 5 o'clock, and then began making breakfast for his stepmother, stepsister, and his so-called father.

He had to do all this—otherwise, they would kick him and his sister, who was not with him right now, out of the house. And these days, renting a house costs so much money. Plus, he needed money to pay off loans and his sister's medical fees.

But why was he paying medical fees for his sister?

Well, it happened a few months ago when his sister wasn't feeling well. At first, she just said she was feeling too tired. It was Mika who noticed she had trouble sleeping, how her eyes looked puffy, and how she always complained about itchy skin.

At first, even Mika thought it was just her rebellious phase. He often saw her going to the bathroom again and again. One day, Anna suddenly ran to him crying. When he asked her why, she said there was blood when she went to the bathroom.

Mika thought it was her period, so he got help from their neighbor lady to take care of her.

But two weeks later, on Mikaela's birthday, Anna was about to give her gift to him when she suddenly collapsed in front of him.

Mika was too shocked and scared. He rushed her to a private hospital instead of a clinic. And that's when he found out—Anna had kidney failure.

After that, Mika left his school and started working to earn money for her treatment. The doctor said they had to wait until they found a donor, and even then, they couldn't treat Anna unless the fees were paid. So she stayed in the hospital, and Mika kept paying little by little, day by day.

After finishing all the housework, by 6:30 in the morning, Mika started his first job as a newspaper boy, delivering papers to houses. He would return home to make lunch for everyone, then take the tiffin to the hospital for Anna. He fed her, helped her change, talked to her for a while, and then left for his next job at a café until noon.

After that, Mika had his lunch and went to his next job at a shoe shop. In the evening, he came back home, cooked dinner for everyone, and visited Anna again. His last job was his favorite—he worked in hotel management at a high-end hotel where only rich people and celebrities came. The pay was much better than his other jobs.

And on Sundays, if he had any free time, Mika took up extra jobs too.

(Seriously, this guy is a workaholic. I can't even think of doing this much.)

He would return home very late at night and sleep only for 4 to 5 hours—or 7 hours at most. But surprisingly, Mika didn't get dark circles, and he never even looked ugly.

And then there was his jealous stepsister, Sussy. She was always envious of him because of his looks—and even Anna's. After all, both of them were naturally beautiful. All the neighbors complimented them for it.

Because of that, Sussy bullied them. How? I'll tell you later.

Even at night, when Mika finally came home, his father would be standing there waiting, demanding money. If Mika refused, his father would hit him, snatch his bag, and take the money by force. Mika couldn't do anything. His father was a tall man with a strong build, and Mika, well—he was short and small in size.

So Mika started hiding his money in secret spots no one could find.

This is how his life was—hard, painful, exhausting. But Mika never gave up. He kept doing whatever he could to earn money.

Hello friends, this was the intro of our Mika.
