She turns around and looks at you. "What did you see in that sea snake, son of Thanatos?" she asks in the bridge tongue. Her tone is mocking, yes, but only slightly. There is something pained in her voice.

She nods. "I saw myself," she says.

"Are you a snake, then?" you ask.

And are you sure you want an answer to this?

She averts her eyes as they start to water. She stares at the sea again. "When you took me in, I only knew how to hate. What I did to your crew…"

"No, stop this," you interrupt her. "We don't have to talk about this."

"Don't we, though?" She grips the lip of the gunwale, and, for a moment, she gives you the impression she might throw herself overboard. "I say I'm changed, that I can make my own fate, but what if, deep down, I am just like that sea snake, bound by what my monstrous god-spelled nature tells me to?"
