Too Much Confidence

"Finn?" Selah asked in surprise when the familiar face appeared where she was not expecting it—in her area of the perimeter. It was not typically where he was stationed. "What are you doing here? Are you okay? Is there something wrong?"

"Hey," he said in his typical friendly way, though there was an obvious hint of discomfort in the way he was standing. It was like he didn't know what to do with his hands. "How are you?"

Selah glanced around. Why was he here? He had answered none of her questions. "I'm fine."

"It has been awhile," he laughed nervously.

She sighed, immediately exhausted by the direction this conversation was headed… which seemed to be nowhere. "Yes. It has been awhile."
