"So what now?" Jason after the screen turned blank.
"I don't know." I replied, trying to calm my frantically beating heart
We stayed silent. Watching the blank T.V. that once showed the Aliens massacre on the human race.
"We need to leave." Jason proclaimed
I wanted to oppose his proclaimation since I didn't like his stupid face. But, I knew he was right so I just stayed quiet, nodding a slight bit in agreement.
He seemed to have seen my nod as his lips curved up a bit before going back to normal.
"What do you suppose we do after leaving" I asked deciding cooperate with him since he was the oldest and also the most seeming composed.
"No clue." He responded with a blank smile
I felt a nerve pop out of my head after seeing his confident and innocent face.
"What do you think we should do?" he asked after seeing my growing fury
"We can search for a military camp with decent fire power and shielding" I answered quelling my anger.
"Sounds like a plan." He responded after listening to me
"Let's wake up sleeping beauty before we start our 'Journey to the west'." Jason said
He went and grabbed a pair of headphones and connected it to his phone. Before playing the video on his phone. I caught a brief glimpse and it seemed to be squid noises.
*Gurgle*
"AGGHH" George screamed while his pants gained a darker shade.
I looked down and saw a puddle of his fluids. Gross.
George looked around in panic for a bit before calming down.
"THE FUCK JASON!?" George shouted.
"What?" Jason responded with an innocent expression.
"Fuck you! I had such a terrible nightmare about being chased by a hentai monster and-" before he finished his sentenced he saw my leg.
Which was patched up by the way. Though I can't move it too much as it'll start bleeding if I do.
"You...Please tell me you just scraped your leg?" He asked in a whimper
"Nope" I responded.
"Then.." He slowly lifted his head til our eyes met.
"That monster..."
"It's dead."
"HAGH" George sighed though whether it was in relief or to soothe his fears. I don't know.
"Well boys, let's start packing." Jason said after letting his brother calm down a bit. Though George looked at him in confusion.
"Mark, you don't have anything to do before we leave?" Jason asked when he saw me lying motionless on the couch.
"Yeah, but we can go after you're done packing" I responded
He just nodded after hearing my answer.
Jason and George live alone. Their parents died when Jason was still in school.
"So where are we going now?" George asked while taking out a bag filled with what I assume to be supplies from the kitchen.
"We're heading west." I responded.
"Since the direction where the creatures seem to come from is east, we're heading the opposite direction." I finished my sentence. Explaining so that he could better understand.
They quickly finished filling up their bags with canned food and drinks. Though I saw George take a couple porno mags with him.
"Let's take a quick detour to my house" I said when we got inside Jason's truck.
"You need something at home?" George asked.
"Yeah, a photo" I replied.
George look at me incredulously while Jason was too busy admiring his good looks.
"Let's go" He said after fixing his hair for the umpteenth time.

Reaching my palace which consisted of an old duplex that I shared with an old couple.
I unlocked the door to my home and stepped inside. I took in the familiar smell of old dilapidated wood and cement. I'm gonna miss this, I thought.
Although I wasn't living in the best of residences. It was home.
I quickly grabbed an old duffle bag from the closet and started rummaging for anything remotely useful for the long travel. Since we lived in a somewhat rural place, it's basically guaranteed to be a long ride. Oh! Just in case you're curious, our humble town has a population of 2000 inhabitants.
After grabbing everything I thought could be useful. I went inside my room, after opening the fake floor of my small cabinet. I took out an aged photo. It was my mother and I.
After staring at it for a bit. I quickly and carefully folded it so it could fit inside my pants pocket.
After entering the truck we headed our way to next town over. It was larger than ours by quite a bit. Housing over 10,000 people.
On our way it was quiet. The only sound coming from the inside was the engine. Not even George spoke with his usually weird conversation topics.
