Chapter 21 - To become a soldier

"Ah...Yes, that's what we were supposed to do, but forgot because we..." She stopped, her face turning red again

After composing herself. She had me do tests. Mainly blood tests and a urine test.

"Well after analyzing your results, I can say that you don't have any poison inside your body" She affirmed

"..." I looked down as I thought of my body's strange occurrences.

"You said that you were eating more than usual and are even more energetic and stronger, correct?"

"Yes."

"Have you felt anything similar to this before?"

"...Even after being thrown around like a rag doll by the spider. I was able to move and even run for a certain amount of time after receiving my many injuries."

*Scribble*

"I don't know what's happening to me, Miss Mitchell."

"Jasmine."

"You can call me Jasmine from now on." She said with a 'I'm not taking no as an answer' face.

"What's happening to me, Jasmine?" I asked with an uncertain smile.

"I believe you are growing stronger." She said simply, with a beautiful smile

I put on a confused expression. Seeing that she then explained

"I believe you have been in contact with something that may have changed your body's structure."

"Huh?"

She took out some photos which seemed to be taken from an X-ray.

"These are your X-ray photos that the doctor who had examined you, when you were unconscious took." She said, shifting to a different photo behind it.

"And these are the ones I took of you now"

Looking at both the photos, I saw that my bone density had increased in the more recent one.

"Can you explain?" I said after examining the photos

"Your bone density increased by a wide margin within the span of 10 hours."

"That's something that shouldn't be humanly possible. Especially at your age."

"And, you and your friends mentioned that your leg was injured. But when your first doctor checked it, it was almost entirely healed."

I rolled up my pants, which I had put on after the tests. I saw that where the previous hole was, laid an ugly scar.

"Guess I can't be a full body model now"

"Don't worry, I'm sure you wouldn't have been able to become one even without the scar" She replied instantly

"Gee, Thanks Doc." I rolled my eyes at her

"Fufu"

"You also said that I was getting stronger. What do you mean by that?"

"The report mentioned that you aren't the athletic type. Yet, for some reason your muscles...are very firm and tough.

She got up and started touching my arm and chest.

She's gotten very touchy with me, hasn't she.

Pulling her arm away, I instinctively grabbed her hand. She was surprised. But let me hold on to it

"Your body is experiencing a very abrupt change. And I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not." She had a worried face

'I guess blowjobs are the way to capture a woman's heart.' I thought jokingly

"For now, I'm going to observe your body's changes everyday."

Hesitantly letting go of my hand, she says "I also recommend you becoming a soldier, as I can also examine your current physics capabilities. I...also think that it would be great to have you with us"

"...I'll think about it." I said

"Jason, George. Do you think we should become soldiers?" I asked them

We were resting inside one of the survivors tents. As I couldn't sleep in the infirmary anymore. Jake wanted us to sleep with him inside their tent, but it would've seemed like we were getting special treatment from him. So we declined.

Me and George were sharing a bunk bed, and Jason with someone else.

"Why do you ask all of a sudden?" George asked

"I think I should be one."

"Mark, we. No, you, barely survived the attack of the alien spider. And now you want to become someone who fights them on a daily basis?" George asked ludicrously

"I know...but I don't want to become someone who cowardly hides behind someone as they front the danger."

"You could just help around the survivors camp! I heard that inside the main bases, there are people who work in farming food and making clothes. Doing menial things are boring but they're better than dying!" George protested

"Just do it" I heard a lazy voice behind me

Jason was lying on his side. He continued

"Be a soldier or don't be. Doesn't matter, as not matter what, those aliens will continue to endanger your life. Only difference is...whether you'll be able to fight back." He muttered lazily before he started snoring.

George and I stayed quiet.

"I'm going to become a soldier" I asserted before falling asleep.
