The Night

Deep in the forest at the temple Xavier was sleeping his breath calm and peaceful.

The day has finally ended, the sun had set and finally the moonlight shined through the world.

The forest was as if it gained a mysterious atmosphere.

The shimmering moonlight, the wind rustling and the sounds of insects create a perfect place in the world.

The temple's ancient ambience as if magnified, portrayed a picture that is serene yet dignified.

If Xavier was awake he would have been charmed by the world at this moment.

Suddenly the sounds stopped. Absolute silence descended. The wind stopped flowing, the insects became silent and dark clouds blocked the sky.

All of it happened magically in a moment.

The silence penetrated deep into Xavier's heart at the moment and he suddenly woke up.

At this moment mysterious smoke started spreading in the temple and its vicinity.

The smoke slowly formed a whirlpool and gathered in the middle of the temple. If Xavier saw this he would have been astonished.

The smoke was pitch black like the night sky yet if one focused he would have been able to see past it as if it was transparent. Something which is impossible.

All this happened in a moment, just a millionth of a second.

The sharp change in atmosphere prompted Xavier to open his eyes. He was lost and terrified yet he knew he had to open his eyes and so he did.

The moment he opened them the world once again changed as if everything was an illusion.

First, the silence was destroyed by a shrill sound that came from within the smoke.

It was too shocking and his heart constricted as if someone was gripping it in his hold.

The next thing he saw was that the back smoke expanded alongside the sound and it formed into a huge shape.

He couldn't figure what it was, he couldn't even fathom it. But this was the most his heart could have taken.

The grip on his heart tightened and the beating stopped and his vision darkened.

All this seemed like a long and complicated procedure but it all happened in a single moment.

From the chilling silence, the advent of fog and the impactful sound and expansion of smoke.

Everything in a moment.

Just a moment.

The fog manifested into something that looked like a face yet not.

It mumbled something or maybe it was an illusion. Yet the atmosphere around indicated it's disappointment and frustration.

The fog started to move towards Xavier and just as it was starting to wrap around him a heartbeat sounded.

It was so weak that no one could even hear even in the silence of the night yet the fog stopped.

The atmosphere changed around the temple as well as fog .

It was agitated yet seemed joyful.

Finally someone has survived. The smoke wrapped around Xavier and slowly descended downwards.

Along with Xavier it penetrated deep into the temple floor.

The surroundings changed back to how they were before. The wind rustling and the insects chirping returned.

The dark haze surrounding the temple receded.

It was as if nothing happened here and no one was even there.
