“Isn’t this gorgeous?” Henley asked as we stand in one of the turrets atop Malahide Castle in Ireland near Dublin a few days later.

But I couldn’t take my eyes off her. “Yes, it is.” I kissed the top of her head and pressed my cheek to hers, enjoying the view with her, my wife. It was the first time either of us had been to Ireland, and it was spectacular. Each site was better than the last, and the land was gorgeous, especially in the summer. “What do you think about us buying a place here?”

Henley looked at me as if I had just lost my mind. “Declan, we can’t buy a house here!”

I shrugged. “Why not?”

“Well, how often will we come here to visit?” Her eyes were wide with disbelief.

“It would make a good investment, and we could come here during the summer months.” I shrugged. “It’s gorgeous, and the people here are nice.”
