Chapter 24: Dealing With the Tereshenkos

Oksana

“What are you….DOING!” Oksana’s voice rose in alarm as Assar without warning dove headfirst out of the carriage.

Oksana rushed over to the side he jumped out of and tried to look back, but couldn’t see him at all. Just her guards, a crowd of onlookers, and an alley. She almost called a halt to her escort, so she could go see if he was all right but thought better of it. He must have had his reasons for making such a dramatic exit, and if she stopped and searched for him, it would probably ruin it.

That didn’t mean she was happy though. Her heart was thudding painfully in her chest as she did her best to calm herself. The carriage was at least five feet off the ground, and they were moving at a relatively fast speed. She knew he was durable, but that was still a dangerous stunt to pull.
