Caught

Logan's POV:

Everything was going according to plan. Attending the ball, talking business, and waiting for the ball to end so I can return to my love and cuddle to sleep. This night would have been ideal if Lia had been my date instead of Zara. I know my girl has always wanted to attend a ball like this, but her safety comes first. And this place is dangerous for her because of one person in particular - Olivier.

I'm also aware that she is upset with me, so I called her before going to the ball. She sounded fine at first as if we hadn't even fought. But she eventually got it and tried to put on a tough exterior. When I called her, I had a strange feeling. I just couldn't put my finger on it. She didn't seem to mind that I was going to the ball without her. Given her personality, I expected her to make things difficult for me. She can be quite stubborn at times. Even after arriving at the ball, I had the nagging feeling that I should call her every minute and check on her, but I decided against it because it would only aggravate her resentment. I wore my emotionless mask throughout the ball.

But I'm only feeling one emotion right now. An emotion that is both powerful and destructive.

Anger!

I could feel it coursing through my veins and engulfing my entire body. I've never felt so angry in my life, and it's the worst feeling. I can only see red.

"What is the fuck going on?" I clenched my fists at my sides and gritted my teeth. She jumped in terror and turned her head to meet my gaze. Her eyes widened for a split second before quickly narrowing. But she wasn't fast enough to escape my notice.

"Do you want anything?" She inquired in her false voice. Oh, she's still playing that stupid game where she thinks she's not being watched. Princess, you have bad luck.

"Who the f**k are you, man?" It took everything in me not to punch Olivier in the face when he slurred. And why on earth is he blindfolded?!

"Karolia, drop the act. And take a fucking step back from him." I snarled, ignoring his remark. She was too close to him for my liking, and he was attempting to bury his face in her chest.

Her beautiful brown orbs widened in fear and shock as she jumped away from Oliver, her body now fully turned towards me.

"Shit," she muttered lowly, taking another step to the left and away from me. Her gaze darted around the room, looking for a way out.

"You can't get away from me now," I said as I approached her. Under my stern, angry gaze, her face paled and she winced visibly. I snatched her arm and pushed her behind me, away from him.

"Sugar, why did you" hiccup "stop?" It was exciting." He stated. My breathing became erratic, and I clenched my fists. It's becoming increasingly difficult not to hurt him.

"Logan, d-don't," Lia said softly from behind, her hand softly touching my arm, attempting to relax me. In any other situation, her touch or voice would have soothed me, but now it only adds to my rage.

He purred, "Baby." Damn it!

I lunged forward and punched him in the jaw. His head jerked backward as a result of the impact, and he collapsed to the ground, unconscious. As my mind became clouded by confusion, I raised my brow.

What exactly did she do to him? The Olivier I know will not be knocked out with a single punch. That man has the stamina of the Hulk!

Lia gasped from behind him and dashed to his side, bending slightly and repeatedly slapping his cheek.

"Is he dead?" She asked, her eyes wide, still trying to wake him up.

"Wait, don't respond to that! Of course, he's no longer alive." Her voice sounded worried, and her face showed signs of panic.

"Karolia-"

"Oh my goodness! How am I going to get answers from him now?" I took a deep breath after she cut me off.

"Lia-"

"Hey, man, get up." She cuts me off again and nudges him with her heels. She can be infuriating at times. Scratch that....most of the time. Unable to control any longer, I grabbed her left elbow, turning her around before pulling her flush against my body, surprising her.

"He isn't. Dead. So, stop panicking." She nodded slowly, trying to take everything in before narrowing her eyes at me.

"YOU," she says, poking my chest with her forefinger, and I raise an eyebrow at her.

"Why do you have to sabotage everything? I was almost there with getting answers from him, and now look at what you've done! He's unconscious." She huffed and glared at me, putting all blame on me.

I moved my hand slowly from her arm to her ribcage, then to her waist, and she shivered, her mouth slightly parted. As I leaned in closer, my mouth was next to her ear. I kissed the sensitive skin behind her ear before biting her earlobe harshly, causing her to gasp.

"L-Log," she murmured as she pushed me away.

"You're in so much trouble, love," I growled quietly in her ear and drew away from her before losing control. She looks incredibly sexy in that dress, and it took everything in me not to rip it off and take her. If only it weren't for this dreadful situation. God, what she does to me!

"How much?" she inquired, her voice trembling. That stupid question made me chuckle darkly.

"You have no idea, but before that..." I pushed her aside and proceeded to Olivier. I knelt down and ripped the belt from his grip, as well as the blindfold that was his own tie, from his eyes. I'm curious what she was up to.

"That was for protection. In case he attempted to do anything, you know "She mumbled an answer. I nodded my head at her. Good!

I grunted as I attempted to pull him to his feet. God! This man is even bigger than a hulk. Karolia took a step forward to assist me when she noticed my discomfort, but a deathly glare from me was more than enough to make her back up.

"Don't even think about touching him again. Wait near the door. I don't want you near him any longer." She rolled her eyes as I sneered.

"Men and their possessiveness," she muttered, but I clearly heard her and hardened my glare. I then walked towards the bed, one arm wrapped around his waist and the other on my shoulder, holding his hand.

I laid him down on the bed and cracked my neck and knuckles to relieve the pain. I took off his shoes and threw them behind my back, not realizing Karolia was standing behind me.

"Ouch, watch it, asshole. Ouch! "She whined, and I turned around to see her rubbing her mask-covered forehead while staring at me with those mesmerizing brown eyes.

"Didn't I tell you to stand close to the door?" When I asked, she huffed loudly. She walked up to the door and stood in front of it, crossing her arms against her chest and stomping her foot.

"Happy?" She fixed her gaze on me.

"Better," I muttered as I turned around. I kept unbuttoning his shirt and taking it off, realizing his coat was already on the floor. I then unzipped his pants before turning around to face my obstinate girlfriend, who was now pointing daggers at me.

"Turn around," I demanded, and she only widened her scowl.

"Why?" She inquired, and I sighed deeply. She'll be the death of me one day.

"Because I'm going to take off his pants, and I don't want you to see that," I smirked as her eyes widened in horror.

"What do you intend to do with him?"

"I'm thinking about having sex with a body that isn't conscious. Would you like to take part?" I deadpanned, and she looked at me as if I were insane.

"Y-You are kidding right?" She asked, and I shook my head, softly chuckling at her cuteness.

"I'm trying to make it appear as if he had sex so he doesn't doubt when he wakes up tomorrow," I explained.

"Oh," she nodded in understanding.

"So," I said as I waited for her.

"So?" she mimicked.

"Turn around." I gritted my teeth. She rolled her eyes but listened, her back to the door. I yanked his pants off and threw them on the floor. I grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around his body. Phew, that's all there is to it!

Now, my stubborn girlfriend!

I ran my hand through my hair, exhausted by all of this drama. I should've expected Lia to find a way to get answers from Olivier, even if it meant going behind my back. She's just as adamant as I am. Perhaps even more.

I approached her and wrapped my arm behind her back, pulling her flush against my chest, and she gasped in surprise. I buried my face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent deeply before pressing a feather-light kiss on her neck. She leans back, allowing me more access to her neck.

"You look beautiful, love," I murmured, and I heard her take another sharp inhalation.

"But that won't stop me from punishing you," I smirked as she stiffened in my grip. I yanked open the bedroom door, clamped her wrist, and hauled her out of the room. She stumbled as she tried to keep up with my pace. She was, however, wise enough to keep her mouth shut.

When we entered the main hall, some people turned to look at us, giving us strange looks. I noticed Lia squirming slightly beside me in response to the attention we were receiving. It was something I fully expected. Since the news that I'll be Marshall Adam's daughter's date tonight has already spread, most of the people around here are looking forward to seeing me and Zara together. So, seeing me with another girl may come as a surprise to them. But they had no idea that this petite woman with me had already won my heart.

I walked forward, ignoring their stares, tightening my grip on her wrist and making her wince slightly. I wanted to yell at them to mind their own fucking business, but I decided against it.

The light abruptly went out, to be replaced by disco lights emanating from various disco balls suspended above us. Mr. Adams took the microphone and cleared his throat, drawing everyone's attention. As he raised his glass of champagne in the air, all the couples, including us, turned to look at him.

"Thank you very much for coming to the ball. I hope everyone is having a good time with their partner. We'll start the evening's dancing. So grab your partner and have fun!" He said it with a big smile on his face. Everyone was soon dancing to the song being played by the DJ.

"Why are you standing there, Mr. Watson? Come on out and join in the fun." From the dance floor, Mr. Adams yelled. A woman is in his arms, gazing at him with adoration and love. His spouse. One quality I admire in him is his devotion to his family and business.

Lia cleared her throat, and I turned my head to look at her, my eyes narrowing slightly as she nervously bit her lips.

"Uh...Umm... My date will most likely be waiting for me. Uh...I think I'll go see him." She mumbled softly, her gaze elsewhere than on me. My blood started to boil, causing me to grind my teeth together.

"You won't be going anywhere. You're staying with me." I gritted my teeth. She opened her mouth to protest, but a stern glare from me silenced her. I know she's trying to get away from me, but luck isn't on her side today. But, who is her date? I wanted to ask her, but I decided to save that for later. I didn't want to aggravate the situation. That will be something I have to deal with later.

I took her hand in mine and walked to the center of the room, which was crowded with so many other couples. I tightened my grip on her waist and drew her in closer. She wrapped her arms around my neck, hesitantly. Her hands were trembling, and she had a firm grip on my collar. I guess my dangerously calm demeanor is scaring her. I could hear a song playing somewhere in the distance, but my focus has narrowed to just the two of us. I really wanted to get her out of here so I could have my way with her, but doing so would raise a lot of questions from the audience, so I decided against it.

We swayed to our own music, staring at each other. I wrapped one hand around her neck and yanked on the ribbon, causing her silky hair to fall down across her shoulder. I have to say, she looks better with her hair open. I leaned in close and whispered into her ear.

"I'm so frustrated with you right now, Lia," I explained calmly. She clenched her fist around my collar and narrowed her eyes at me.

"How did you find me? Scarlet, did she tell you?" She didn't mince words when she asked me.

"So Scarlet is also involved in this stupid plan of yours, huh?" I asked angrily, and she looked down, her cheeks flushed.

"No, she isn't." I raised my brows as she snapped back quickly. I made a mental note to discuss this later.

"It's simple to recognize you, love, "I said, and her brows furrowed in confusion.

"How?" She inquired, her face filled with piqued interest.

"First and foremost, your eyes," I said softly, kissing each of her eyelids. "It's the most fascinating thing I've ever seen. A honey-like combination of brown and hazel." I smirked and twirled her around in my arms, her hair slapping against my cheeks. I came to a halt with her back to me and slammed her hard onto my chest, earning a small 'oomph' from her.

"Then there's your intoxicating scent. Jasmine and Sandalwood blend." As I took a deep sniff of her hair, I said. I smelled it the moment she walked past me after spilling the drink. But, at the time, I thought I was hallucinating because I was thinking a lot about her. But then I noticed her eyes. I'll never forget her hypnotic eyes, even in my dreams. That was, after all, the first thing I fell in love with.

I quickly twirled her around in my arms, and she blinked twice, attempting to shake off the dizziness. Her eyes were widened, and she wore a permanent scowl. I took her left hand in mine and raised it higher in the air. Her other hand was on my shoulder, and mine was on her lower back. I placed her hand to my mouth and kissed her knuckles before kissing her ring. It's the ring I gave her! The ring that identifies her as mine.

"Next time you plan something like this, make sure you properly disguise yourself, including removing this ring," I smirked at her, and she froze, realizing her own error.

I was watching her every move as she confidently approached Olivier with a glass of alcohol in her hand. Even so, I wasn't sure if she was the same person I had doubted. My girl had never been so confident as to walk right up to her enemy. She's a lot smarter than that. That's what I assumed. But boy, was I ever wrong. My doubt was confirmed when I noticed the ring on her left hand, which shone in the light as she dragged Olivier into one of the opposite hallways.

Zara walked towards us out of the corner of my eye. As soon as I realized hell was about to break loose, I groaned and rested my head on Lia's shoulder.

I was furious when Mia called to say she wouldn't be able to attend the ball with me. But I couldn't blame her because she had a doctor's appointment and I had given her the day off because it was on her schedule. It's not right for me to rearrange her schedule and force her to do this. Then I reasoned that it would be a good way to avoid going to the ceremony by claiming that I didn't have a date. That way, I won't have to stress about finding a new date, and I'll be able to spend the night with Lia and work out our current disagreement.

But my hopes were dashed when I called Mr. Adams to inform him of the situation. He gave me a way to go with his daughter because even she had no date. I knew before, how she had looked up to me and always admired me. Whenever we meet on other occasions I have always avoided her progress but I never thought I would end up with it. I've always known how Mr. Adams has wished me to become his long-term partner aka his son-in-law, but I've already shown that I don't plan to marry soon. That is until Karolia came along.

I raised my head to see Lia and Miss. Adams engaged in a heated stare-down.

"Excuse me, but he's my date. I'm supposed to be the one dancing with him. Please, if you don't mind, step aside." Zara stated. I glared at her, considering different reasons to silence her. What in the world does she think she is? I only want to hold my girl in my arms. But I also know that I shouldn't snap at her right now, especially since her father is only a few feet away.

My girlfriend narrowed her eyes at her and moved in front of me before I could say anything. As I noticed the possessive glint in her eyes, my heart welled up with pride.

"He's your date for tonight, but he's also my boyfriend. So if anyone should dance with him, it should be me." She snapped at her. As she stared between me and Lia, Zara's eyes widened and her mouth hung open. I noticed that some of the couples around us were staring at us.

"How come you didn't tell me your girlfriend was here, Logan?" Zara questioned me, accusingly.

"Zara, accept my apologies for the inconvenience. I'll explain everything later, but please excuse us for the time being." I asked, and she nodded after a few moments, walking away but not without one last look at Lia. God! On top of everything else, I now have a new problem. Is it possible for this night to get any worse?

Karolia turned to face me, a scowl on her face.

"Didn't you get another date besides this Barbie doll?"
