"What kind of ending is that?" Grecia whined disappointedly, sitting next to me. I chuckled at her cute pout.
"I know right. Why couldn't they end it without him dying?" Daniella complained a scowl etched on her lips as well. I shrugged my shoulders because I didn't know the answer to that either.
"Or they could have just shown from the beginning itself that he was just her imagination," Grecia spoke out her suggestion.
"Her hallucinations of him are what made her survive and go forward amidst the difficulties. Like that gave her the need to escape." I explained.
"But still, it's so sad. I regret watching this now. My whole mood is deflated." Grecia said and Daniella agreed with nodding. I look at Rebecca and we both shake our heads at their childishness.
It's almost around half past 4 in the afternoon and we just finished watching the movie 'Adrift'. We were all lounged on the comfortable seats of Watson Mansion's home theatre with some snacks and drinks. The room is on the first floor and the color theme of the entire setting is black and red that gives an aesthetic vibe. There are a total of 12 luxurious seats arranged such that the three rows have 4 seats each overlooking a large screen that covers most of a wall.
Logan has gone out for his unexpectedly important meeting right after lunch. He had texted me about twenty minutes ago that he would be coming in an hour. That means 'finish all your work in that one hour and get ready for today's training'.
Even though Logan planned to train me every day in the morning as a routine, his plans got changed because of his busy work schedule. So now we postponed my 'self-defense classes' from the forbidden time of 6 in the morning to 6 in the evening which I'm very much thankful for.
Logan had told Grecia that I was taking some self-defense classes from him and she was so appreciative of it even though she didn't know the real reason behind it. She went on to lecture on how it's important to learn to protect ourselves, especially in this society. I can say that Grecia is not at all pleased by the movie due to its sad ending and she started sulking right away.
I stood up from the couch with much difficulty as my body still hasn't recovered from the unfamiliar rapid movements that I was told to learn yesterday. Although I didn't feel much pain yesterday, getting up in the morning seemed so difficult that I felt like I had been run over by a truck multiple times. My whole body was sore and aching in the places that I have never felt before. I swear if Logan was there next to me when I woke up, I would have given him two purple eyes. I cursed him out so much in the morning but I also felt guilty for doing it since he was just trying to make me stronger and braver. Talk about ambivalence.
I took my phone before notifying the three actively sulking women that I was going upstairs to take a shower. I enter Logan's room and connect my phone to the charger before getting inside the washroom. I remove my clothes one by one before getting into the hot shower, exhaling a loud and content sigh on feeling my muscles relaxing at the contact of the hot water.
I know it's stupid of me to bath before the workout since I know I will end up in a sweaty mess after the training. But I just wanted to relax my muscles properly before the training starts or I do not doubt that I wouldn't be even able to walk upstairs if I don't do this now.
Showering has always been the time where I think about the events till then. It is time I make most of my decisions. I relish the faint pit-pat noise of the flowing water which gives me comfort weirdly. It's also the reason why my shower time is much longer than intended to be since I lose track of time enjoying my solitary. Today was also no different as I recalled yesterday's events in my head. The training, my drunk self creating a mess as well as the note I received.
I remember the look on Logan's face as soon as I showed the notes to him. I felt bad for ruining his mood as he was so excited to take me to the beach yesterday night. Seeing him all happy about the idea almost made me almost back out from telling him what happened at the cafe but the promise we made to each other forced me to do it. He was shocked as well as angry when he heard about what happened. He became a bit restless when he realized how close they had come near me.
Safe to say that our trip to the beach was ruined as I spent at least an hour calming Logan down in the middle of the road. As soon as we reached the mansion Logan took all the notes that I have received so far and scanned each one of them. When I asked him the reason he just said that it's for proof and nothing more. I decided not to ask him more as he seemed a bit on the verge of breaking something and settled on to just calm him for then.
I contemplate again on the notes and try to make sense of it but I'm still clueless. Nothing good had happened ever since I started getting these notes. It has always threatened the lives of my loved ones. I made sure to call every one of my close friends and ask them about their whereabouts in the morning itself. Even though it's just Scarlet, Patrick, Tyler, and Finn, I made sure they are all well protected and accompanied by people all the time. It was hard to make them understand without explaining to them the intensity of the situation, but with the help of Logan, we somehow convinced all of them to stay put.
But the note also doesn't seem like a threat or warning and that's what confuses me more. If the Boss is already in NYC then why is he not summoning me? I'm pretty sure it's me who they want but then why are they delaying it and hurting the people around me? So many questions cloud my mind again as usual and I decided it's better to get out of the shower for now. I wrap the bathrobe around me and tie the knot tightly before getting out of my shower cubicle.
As soon as I exit the bathroom I check my phone to see that I have gotten a missed call from an unknown number. My brows furrowed in confusion but I decided to leave it as I concluded it might be the wrong number. I was shocked to notice that I have spent almost an hour in the shower and I have to dress up quickly before Logan arrives to get my ass to the training room. I quickly put on a polyester sleeveless top which I found similar to a gym cloth and paired it with high waisted tight-fitting pants. Since I didn't wash my hair in the shower it was easier to put it in a high ponytail.
I wanted to surprise Logan by already being present in the gym before him. He knows how much I hate working out and exercising but if he is taking his time to teach me something then I should appreciate his efforts as well as I must show that I'm willing to give my one hundred percent dedication for this. That's why I'm planning to start my warm-up routine even before he comes so it might make him happy to know I'm interested in this.
Just as I was about to put on my shoes, I heard my phone ringing. I looked at the time and noticed that there is still half an hour left for Logan to arrive. Maybe he is calling to warn me again. I thought as I took my phone out of the charger but immediately frown as I noticed that it is the same unknown number that had called me before. I debated on whether to attend or not but then shook my head mentally before swiping the green sign on the screen.
"Hello?" I greeted in a formal tone.
"It's so good to hear your voice again, Karolia." I bit my lip in confusion as I heard the unfamiliar voice.
"Who is this?" I ask incredulously.
"Didn't know you would forget me this fast, sweetheart. But to regain your memory, I'm the eleven-year-old kid that you kissed back in school just for a dare." I took a sharp intake of breath as I realized who the person is from the other end.
"Vincent," I stated, and for some reason, my heart started to beat faster.
"Yes sweetheart, it's me,"
"How did you get my number?" I asked without beating around the bush.
"I should admit, I'm a bit hurt you didn't ask about my whereabouts first." He stayed silent as if expecting me to do as he commented but when I didn't utter a word, he heaved a sigh into the phone before continuing. "I have my sources, sweetheart. You seem to underestimate my powers" he chuckled. A shiver ran down my spine and it wasn't a good one.
"Why are you calling me, Vincent?"
"The answer is simple. I just wanted to hear your voice and see you in person. I missed you" He replied.
"You heard my voice so now you can stop calling me. And I'm pretty sure we can't meet when we are practically miles apart, Vincent." I told him firmly.
"Well, I guess I can indeed travel those miles apart to see you," Vincent said which made me roll my eyes.
"You're in Worcester and I'm in NYC. Moreover, you don't know where I'm living in this big city." I scoffed and asked him mockingly. How delusional is this guy?
"Surprise!!" He whispered in a husky tone which made my brows furrow.
"Pardon?" I asked him.
"I'm in NYC itself, Karolia. Not very far away from you now, am I?" He asked with a chuckle. I felt like my breath caught in my throat as I caught in his words. I blinked my eyes rapidly as I tried to form a sentence.
"H-How?" I asked in a shaky whisper.
"Let's just say that I grew some balls and decided to finally take over my dad's company. I'm here to run some errands for some business alliances before father arrives. Also to answer your question, you're Logan Watson's girlfriend, it's not that difficult to find his house" he chuckled again. I grit my teeth in anger.
"So, I just want to catch up with you in the meantime. Remember we couldn't meet on your birthday. I still have my present for you. At least give me a chance now." I bite my lip trying to think of an answer to cut him off.
"Vincent, just like you said I have a boyfriend. Don't you think it's inappropriate for us to meet and spend time?" I said.
"So? What's wrong with our meeting? It's not like I'm asking you on a date. I just want to see you and talk with you. You know trying to catch up for the lost times."
"We have nothing to catch up on. I'm pretty busy these days so I don't think we will be able to meet up." I paused, giving him time to get it clear. "And even if I am free, I'm not willing to spend time with you. Please don't call and disturb me again."
"Wai-"
"Goodbye, Vincent." I cut the phone immediately, not giving him a chance to reply. I released the breath that I didn't realize I was holding in. I closed my eyes and bit my lip trying to get my nerves under control. Why does he always give me weird vibes?
"Lia, are you ready?" I jumped up as soon as I heard the voice. I turned around to notice Logan, who just walked through the threshold of our open door. Wait, how long has he been standing there?
"Uhh, um yeah." I watched his movements as he removed his long woolen winter coat and threw it on the bedside couch and removed his shoes while sitting on the same couch.
"Just give me fifteen minutes. I will freshen up and we will start, alright?" He asked me. I relaxed once I noticed not much change in his mood. He didn't hear anything. I nodded my head and disappeared into the closet again to put on my shoes. When I exited the closet, Logan was already half-naked with only his pants on. He approached me and placed a firm kiss on my lips before he disappeared into the washroom.
I stare at the closed door as I contemplate whether to tell him about the phone call from Vincent or not. He is already not over the note that we received yesterday, so telling him about what happened today will only add things for him. So I decided not to tell him and headed straight to the gym room by myself. I think it's better if I engage myself in doing something so I don't overthink things.
Just like he said, after fifteen minutes Logan came in wearing his track pants and shirt with a pair of water bottles in his hands. I can say he was surprised to see me already start with the warm-up but I didn't feel the happiness that I thought I would feel once I saw his proud face. I rather felt a bit disturbed about everything and I tried my best to not show it to him.
Luck wasn't with me this time, as always, and I found myself zoning out here and there in between the training. My mind was all over the place and I know Logan noticed it too since he kept on yelling my name to focus on doing the task in hand. Logan decided to make me practice the moves that I learned yesterday for the first one hour and then taught me some new moves and techniques later. We practiced those moves for half an hour before we entered the boxing ring to practice sparring.
I tried to pay complete attention to Logan's every move but I guess at some point I failed since I suddenly landed on the bouncy platform with a loud thump and a groan escaped my mouth due to the impact. I open my eyes to see Logan on top of me in a crouching position with his one hand circling my waist to lessen the impact of the fall.
"Lia, didn't I tell you to watch my legs often? I just combined all the moves we practiced a while ago so it's nothing new." Logan chides with furrowed eyebrows.
"I'm sorry, I missed it. Will pay more attention now." I said before licking my dry lips. Logan scrutinized me before standing up and extending his hand to me. I took it and soon was pulled up by him.
"You're distracted. What's wrong?" Logan asked which made my heart beat faster than it was before.
"It's nothing. I just...umm," I tried to come up with a lie but I stood there like a fish gulping for air.
"Is it because of yesterday? Are you still troubled by it?" He interjected by caressing my cheeks softly. I stared at him with wide eyes as I didn't know what to say. I looked down preparing to tell him the truth but he cut me off.
"It's ok, I understand. Even I'm not in my right mind. Shall we stop for now? We need a clear mind to practice sparring and neither of us are at the moment." He said and kissed my forehead without giving me a chance to speak.
He removed the gloves he had on and stepped down the boxing ring. I blinked my tears away as frustration clouded my mind. I want to tell him, I really want to. Even though I made my intentions clear with Vincent and cut him off, why am I feeling like I'm doing wrong here? I clench my teeth and remove my gloves before getting down as well. Logan and I walk in silence to our room and change into our pajamas after a quick shower.
We had our dinner with Grecia and as always she tried to lighten up the mood seeing our tired faces after our training session. I should say she was successful in doing it as I found all three of us laughing and having a good time as we ate our food. Once we finished the dinner Logan went to his office room to send some business emails meanwhile I and Grecia lounged on the living room sofa for a bit before we decided to call it a day.
I kissed Grecia on the cheeks and said my goodnight before I climbed the stairs to his room. After doing my night routine I exit the bathroom to find Logan already sprawled on the bed with his right leg propped up, hands behind his head which made his biceps bulge out and a thoughtful look on his face. I approached him slowly and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Log," I called before placing my hand on his leg. He immediately snapped out of his train of thought and looked at me. He sat up straight before lifting me to sit on his lap in a straddling position. I squealed and let out a loud 'Oww' as his finger's gripped the sore flesh of my ribs. Logan immediately loosened his grip and looked at me concerned.
"Are you hurt somewhere?" He asked, suddenly looking worried.
"Not hurt but mostly sore," I said with a pout. Logan's lips immediately turned up in a small smile to which I glared. He bit his lip to prevent him from smiling more at my reaction.
"How dare you laugh at my misery?" I scolded him and slapped his chest. Logan let out a hearty laugh.
"Ohh, love. How can I not smile at you when you're this cute?" He said with a smile again and I tried to hide the blush that threatened to show up. I rolled my eyes and was about to get off him but he stopped me.
"I'm sorry." I frowned as he apologized out of the blue.
"I'm sorry for making you do more than you could, Lia. I know I'm being tough on you but I can't help myself, especially after knowing what happened yesterday. This person already came this close to you and I'm afraid the next time they will do more than just dropping these stupid notes. And the chances of me not being there to protect you are terrifying me. What if they take you? Or worse what if they hurt you? I can't-" I cut his rant by pressing my lips to his. I cupped his cheeks and caressed it before I pulled back. I saw how Logan relaxed under my touch and that made a smile form on my lips.
"Log, I know why we are doing this. I never complained to you about you going hard on me, have I? I asked him to which he shook his head.
"I didn't because I understand why you're trying to train me so hard and trust me I would have done the same if our roles were switched. You have no idea how grateful I am for all your efforts. And about the cafe incident, we can't change what's written in our future, Log. What's going to happen will happen and you can't protect every time and that's exactly why I am taking the training. But one thing is apparent, the Boss is not trying to kill me." I said and I saw Logan's confused face.
"How are you sure?" Logan asked.
"I feel like they want something from me but I'm not sure what it is. If they wanted me dead then they could have done that when they killed mom and dad itself but they didn't. They kept me, hostage, for almost a week until this Boss arrived. And even now, I'm pretty sure they are watching my every move whenever I'm out of this mansion, so they could have killed me in many ways." I shrugged my shoulders. Logan's jaw clenched at the mention of me getting killed.
"Instead of slipping that note yesterday the person could have killed me then and there since he was so close, but he didn't. I feel like they are preparing me for something and we should try to figure out what it is." I said to which Logan nodded in understanding.
"Either way, it's better to be prepared for anything. And I want you to tell me if anything happens, even if it's a small thing, inform me right away," he said and I sucked in a breath. I quickly nodded my head and looked away as I couldn't hold his eye contact as I knew he would catch on quickly. We kissed goodnight before switching off all the lights and getting inside our soft and comfortable blanket. I turned my back on Logan and stared at the night sky through the glass window as my mind overtook to debate over whether to tell him or not about Vincent again.
I know I should tell him but now when I think it's not even that important right. Vincent just tried to flirt with me again and I declined and made my intentions clear before cutting him off. He is not going to pester me again so why should I bother.
I stiffen when Logan's warm hands wrap around me to bring my body closer to him so that he was spooning me from behind. I relaxed and curled up immediately.
"Sleep, love. Goodnight." He kissed my hair and I soon felt myself drifting to slumber as the fatigue took over.
******
(Three days later)
Everything was going smoothly since that day, no more threats, no more phone calls. Well the last part, you could say I made sure of it since I blocked Vincent's number on my phone ever since he tried to call me for the second time the day before yesterday.
I had already told him not to call me anymore so warning him again would be a waste of time therefore I directly did what I should have done the first day itself. I haven't gotten out of the mansion since that day and I have been spending my time very productively, for example right now, by baking cheesecake.
Since Logan is not a huge fan of chocolate and Grecia being in the range of prediabetes I decided to settle on plain cheesecake rather than something overly sweet. My enthusiasm increased much more when Grecia told me that blueberry cheesecake is Logan's favorite after the Italian dessert Tiramisu.
Since this was my first try, I watched many tutorials on the internet which was the biggest mistake I made. As soon as I took the baking pan out of the oven my heart dropped to my stomach as I saw the huge cracks on the top as well as on the sides. Not to mention the whole cake was light brown when it should have been custard cream color.
Let me tell you guys if you're planning to follow a recipe then stick to one and don't watch multiple ones because I guess I mixed up all the recipes that I saw. I thought if I combine all the best points from all the recipes I saw, I could get a much better product but it proved me wrong. But I have no idea where I went wrong though. Did I overmix it? Did I keep it in the oven for too long? Did I put too much water in the tray?
Ohhh NOOOO!!!
I let out a whine as I couldn't accept my failure with this one. I prepared it with so much care, the why? Why do you do this?
"I didn't do anything, sweetheart," Grecia exclaimed from near me, putting her hand up in surrender. I turn to her with a pout. She has been standing here, giving me company the whole time while I was making it.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean you, Grecia. I was blaming myself. I didn't know I was thinking out loud though." I said with my lips pursed.
"Are you sure it's a fail?" Maybe it's just the appearance and inside it tastes good." She said making my hope rise. I took a spoon and gently took a bite from the cake. Grecia was staring at my face waiting to get a reaction. I looked at her with puppy eyes and she immediately knew the answer.
"Shall I taste it?" Grecia asked eagerly and was about to take the spoon when I stopped her.
"Grecia, NO. You don't have to try it. It-It's not cooked properly and tastes a bit bland." I sigh as I remove my heat resistant kitchen gloves and sit on the chair with a thump.
"It's alright, honey. We'll try again next time." Grecia said to which I nodded my head in defeat.
We spend the rest of the time lounging on the living room sofa, as usual, and watch the TV while waiting for Logan to arrive. He left this morning for work around 9 am soon after our training and didn't even come back for lunch. I can say he is having loads of work piled up as he also looks really tired recently. The least I could do is help him with some paperwork at night and I make sure to do it nowadays to reduce his workload.
It was just me and Grecia in the house right now and the few bodyguards guarding the perimeter of the mansion. Rebecca had left a day before as her duty to be the home nurse for a week has been completed. Grecia showed great improvement in her health as all her test results were showing normal. Although it was sad saying goodbye to Rebecca, who had been staying with us for a week, we celebrated her last day with a feast. Daniella had prepared our dinner early so she left as soon as it hit eight at night.
After an hour or so, we heard the front door open and Logan's deep voice greeted us first before we saw his face. As always he looked handsome with his long winter coat and the suit beneath it. He approached Grecia first and kissed her cheeks before he turned to me and he opened his arms for a hug.
"We were waiting for you to come home. Now go and have your dinner Logan, I will just go to sleep now since I'm feeling a bit drained. Goodnight, sweeties." Grecia patted both of us on the back.
I settled on watching a live talk show after I made sure Logan started having his dinner. He asked me to continue watching as he said he didn't mind eating alone. Since he is somewhat a fast eater I know he will finish his meal fast and come to chill on the couch before we both go to bed. I started scrolling through my phone in the middle as I felt the show boring at some point. Almost twenty minutes later I heard Logan's voice calling me for something which made my eyes go wide.
"Lia, did you bake this for me?" Logan asked from the kitchen and I immediately threw my phone on the couch before running to the kitchen.
"Logan, don't." I shouted but it was too late as Logan had already put in a spoon of the failed cheesecake in his mouth. I ran to him and grabbed the spoon away from him before throwing it on the sink.
I bit my lip as I watched Logan's facial expression change from amused to skeptical and then to disgust. He gulped the remaining with so much difficulty before looking at me.
"Babe, if that was an attempt at making cheesecake, then I beg you to not try it again." I hit his chest as soon as those offending words hit my ears. So rude!
"Who told you to eat it without asking me? And no, I didn't make that just for you." I lied straight at his face. Logan snickered at me.
"Liar. I know you made it for me." Logan smirks and for some reason, I got irked. I stomped my foot and turned to leave the kitchen but I was pulled back to Logan's chest. In a second I was placed on the countertop with Logan standing in between my legs.
"I still didn't get a proper dessert," Logan complained seriously.
"Well, seems like it's ruined." I shrugged my shoulders back, glaring at him.
"Too bad. But I'm really in need of something sweet." Logan pouted childishly.
"What do you want me to do now, mister?" I asked him, irritated.
"Just cooperate." Logan gave me a sheepish smile to which I frowned in confusion. I was about to ask him when he cut me off by slamming his lips to mine. I groaned at the sudden impact but immediately melted in the kiss. I felt myself being lifted from the countertop and was carried in Logan's arms as I secured my legs on his torso.
I felt my back hit the soft surface of the living room couch and soon Logan was hovering over me. I pulled him by his hair and his grip tightened on my waist. I broke the kiss when I felt the core need to refill oxygen in my lungs. I pant heavily while gazing at the dreamy smile on Logan's face.
"Tell me, how did it taste?" I asked him, curiously.
"The perfect kind of sweet," Logan answered me while rubbing my bottom lip. I roll my eyes and smack his head to get his mind out of the gutter.
"I meant the cheesecake." I reprimanded him. Logan looked taken aback but soon composed and pulled back into a sitting position.
"Honestly, it tasted like a plain omelet with some cream cheese." He admitted with a sheepish look and I got up to hit his chest. Logan laughed seeing my tantrum and held my hand from hitting him any more. We both fell back on the couch, with me on top of him, while we shared a hearty laugh. I just gazed at Logan and my heart elevated with happiness as I saw how carefree he looked right now with no stress or tension. It's just us in our little world. We just chilled in that position for about fifteen minutes before I heard my ringtone go on.
I sigh when I realized it must be Scar since we usually call each other at this time to discuss our day. I'm sure she is going to ask me the final result of the cheesecake since I had texted her earlier for some tips too. I pick up my phone and answer it without looking at the caller id.
"Hey, Scar," I said and laid my head back on Logan's chest.
"Finally, you picked up." I heard the deep voice of someone who I haven't heard for a few days. I stiffen as I felt Logan's head tilt down to see me.
"I figured you might have started to ignore my other number and blocked me. So I had to call you from a new number now. You can't get rid of me that easily, sweetheart." Vincent said in a sensual tone.
When I felt Logan's body stiffen beneath me. I got up and sat in front of him. He soon followed my movements as he caught on to the male voice from the phone. His face looked at me questioningly but didn't ask anything which I was thankful for at the moment.
"Let me hear your voice, Karolia. Speak up." I snapped my attention back to the phone and I didn't know what to do for a second.
Logan's eyes narrowed at the phone in my hand and I soon saw his mood change into a bit angry one. I got up from the couch in the hope to get away from here but I was stopped even before I took my second step. Logan had my left hand in his not so loose grip, making sure I didn't escape. Defeatedly I decided to speak up as I know I can't hide it from Logan anymore.
"I told you to stop calling me," I spoke, intending to be harsh on the person who is on the other line.
"Well, guess who is determined," Vincent replied.
'Who is it?' Logan mouthed, with furrowed brows and thin lips. I gulp silently.
"I just want to see you. Is it too much to ask for?" Vincent asked through the phone again.
"Vincent, I told you I don't want to see you. Why do you keep disturbing me again?" I snapped. Logan's jaw clenched as soon as he heard his name and snatched my phone away from me before putting it on speaker.
"It's either you tell me when we can meet or else I will come and visit you at your place," Vincent said which immediately made Logan mad.
"She is not meeting you. You heard her. Now you better stop bothering my girlfriend before this turns ugly." Logan warned Vincent in a deep voice. There was silence from the other end before Vincent finally spoke up.
"Hello, Watson. Didn't peg you for someone who spies his girlfriend's phone conversations." Vincent commented which angered Logan a bit more.
"What I do is none of your business, Malinov." Logan gritted out with clenched teeth.
"Alright, I didn't intend to bother your girlfriend. Since she used to enjoy my company back in childhood I thought she would now too." Vincent said which immediately made Logan turn to me with wide eyes. I open my mouth in shock and I held myself from shouting at Vincent to f**k off.
"Just tell her my offer still stands if she changes her mind," Vincent commented and that was the last straw as Logan cut the call abruptly and threw the phone away to the couch. I jerked back at the force and felt relieved that he threw it on the couch rather than anywhere else. With that force, it surely would have broken into tiny pieces.
"Why didn't you tell me about this?" Logan asked straight away without beating around the bush. I saw the clenching and unclenching of his fists and prepared myself.
"I-I didn't think it was important since-" My words were cut off by Logan as he yelled at me.
"How can you say this isn't important when he has been practically forcing you to meet up with him since how long I have no idea?" Logan stood in front of me all tall and squared up and I craned my neck higher to look him in the eyes.
"Don't raise your voice, Logan. We don't want Grecia to wake up now." I said. Logan heaved a heavy sigh before he sat down on the couch with his hands resting on his knees.
"I didn't think it was important because you already have a lot on your plate recently and I felt that something as simple as this shouldn't divert your attention. I made my intentions clear with him the first time he called me and even blocked his number for good so that he wouldn't disturb me anymore"
"I thought I settled it then itself, but I was wrong. I didn't know he was this adamant." I glared at the phone lying on the couch as if I'm glaring at the person I was talking about. Logan calmed down a bit and nodded his head after hearing my explanation.
"What was he talking about your childhood and all? Are you hiding something from me again from your past?" He asked curiously but I also saw a bit of hurt and nervousness along with it which made my heart melt.
I explained to him about what happened in the past when I was studying in elementary school, the time I kissed him for a stupid dare, and how I had a crush on him and his character and everything. Logan listened to me patiently without interrupting me and I appreciated him for that.
"So you sure you don't have any feelings for him?" I rolled my eyes as I saw the tension on Logan's face.
"Nope," I popped the 'p' in it and climbed on Logan's lap gently.
"I don't have those feelings for anyone in this world aside from you. Happy?" I asked him as if talking to a child.
"Why do you sound like you're forced into saying that?" I chuckled as I saw Logan's pouty lips. Aww, how adorable. I cup his cheeks and made sure he looked into my eyes.
"Logan, I'm in love with you and will always be. Only with you. So quit doubting." I tell him before pecking his lips.
"I'm very much glad to hear that," Logan said excitedly before picking me up and walking towards the stairs. I smile as I wind my arms around him and bury my face in his neck.

Unknown POV:
I take a sip of whiskey from my glass and count the number of rings as I wait for the person to pick up my call. Just at the fourth ring the call was attended and I heard the familiar voice I hadn't heard for almost a year.
"Hello," Olivier spoke from the other end, his voice gruff as if he woke up from sleep.
"It's been so long, Oliver Campbell" I exclaimed and a smirk formed on my lips as I heard the sharp intake of breath from the other end.
"Have to admit, I thought I succeeded in escaping from you." Olivier huffed.
"If I really wanted to catch you, you would have already been dead by now, Olivier. What do you take me for? I'm not dumb enough to let you escape without a reason." Olivier remained silent for a solid one minute before he spoke.
"Why am I not surprised? I should have known about this." He released a sigh before asking the question that I wanted to hear. "What do you want, Boss?" He uttered and pressed at the last word.
"I know all your tie ups with Watson and Karolia. And from what I know, you haven't exposed my name. Still a trustable one, huh" I chuckled.
"Ha, you wish!" Oliver hissed. "I've got my own plans, bastard."
"Haa, am not surprised" I again chuckled darkly. "So it was true that I heard you three meet up occasionally, I bet this discussion will be all about how to take me down, isn't it Campbell ?" I asked. Oliver hissed into the phone.
"None of your f***king business. Now tell me why you called?" he pressed.
"You don't have to run away from me anymore, Olivier. I have a proposal for you. A deal that will benefit both of us." I asked and waited for his reply. He stayed completely silent for sometime.
"How can I trust you?" He asked skeptically.
"How did you trust Logan, Olivier?" I asked him back which made his mouth shut
"I need time to think through this." He said after a few minutes.
"Sure. I hope you make the right choice, Campbell." I said before I cut the call. I smirk as I take the last sip from my whiskey.
Everything is going according to my plan.
