Hold on

Karolia's POV:

A faint tingling sensation from the side of my right cheek woke me up from the deep slumber I was in. I sensed a soft trail of touch from the corner of my mouth to my jaw and then back to my cheeks. My eyeballs rolled, trying to open my eyes but it felt like a big heavy sack of something was dumped on top of my face. That's how heavy and painful my face feels right now.

It hurts…. Everything hurts...

The tingling sensation was soon replaced by something moist on my collarbone. It was so wet and sloppy that it made me uneasy. I can tell this isn't my Logan's touch. This feeling is nowhere near what I feel when Logan touches me. With Logan, it was serene and so rapture. So with much difficulty, I pried my eyes open. The first thing that comes into my view is the dimly lit yellow fluorescent bulb and the creaky uneven planked wooden ceiling. I blink my eyes in confusion as it is a roof that I have never woken up to in my entire life.

"You're awake, finally." I heard the deep voice of someone just near my face and the force with which I snapped my head towards the person almost made me faint in dizziness. It took me a moment to focus on the face of the person and my eyes slowly widened once I saw who it was. He was lying beside me, staring at me with an intense look on his face.

My first instinct was to scurry away from him but his arm on my stomach restricted my movements. I screeched loudly and pushed his arm away with enough force I could muster up. I then turned around to get away from him, but I ended up falling flat on the floor. I noticed the bed I was resting a split second ago was so small, I will hardly call it a bed though.

"Woah, there," Vincent shouted, with a chuckle which made me feel sick to my stomach. Two things disgust me the most now. First, it was Vincent's hands and lips that touched my body, and second, also the worst one, he did this while I was still asleep. I crawl towards the wall, away from the bed and him. I gulped in uneasiness and tried to recall everything that happened previously.

The last thing I remember before I was injected was the heartbreaking pain of seeing Logan closing his eyes and laying there lifelessly on the ground. The memory of his pained eyes looking at me just before it closed is still fresh in my mind. A quiet sob escaped my lips as I remembered the dread-filled scene.

I felt a hand touch my wet cheeks and I immediately flinched back before slapping the filthy hand of Vincent away. I glare at him with all the hate I could muster from my core.

"Get away from me," I shouted at him in peak anger before pushing him back roughly. He stumbled back in surprise of my rage. What did he expect?

"Ohh, calm down, love." He said with a slight smirk.

'Love'

Only one person in this world has the right to call me that. Only him and no one, freaking no one can do that other than him.

"Don't call me that. You have NO right" I gritted out in disgust before struggling to get up from my crouching position. My muscles ache like hell but I couldn't give a damn about it. What I want right now is to get away from him as soon as possible.

"Feisty as always" Vincent chuckled.

I ignore him and his statement. I push the ground with my hands to lift myself. As soon as I got up, my legs felt unsteady and I felt myself lean against the wall for support. I shake my head to get rid of the light-headedness and stagger towards the wooden door at the end of this wall. I tried to open the door by twisting and turning the door handle but the damn door wouldn't open up. My frustration reached its peak and yelled to open the door to whoever was outside.

"Lord woman, it's just 4 in the morning. Not all of them are awake as you. So you better stop with that shouting." Vincent yelled back, warningly.

I ignored his words and kept banging on the door and shouting, hoping that someone could hear me and save me. I scan the whole area and the room in confusion. This is not the same building I was last in.

Where am I?

I wondered and my eyes followed Vincent's movements as he slowly sat on the bed which looked so gross and disgusting with big stains on it. Was I lying on that? My bile raised but I swallowed it down. Vincent looked at me nonchalantly, as if he was waiting for me to surrender. I turned my head back and continued to pound on the door, screaming and yelling to open it. I could hear the people from the other side as there were constant sounds of footsteps going here and there.

All my efforts turned futile and I understood none of the people who were at the other side of this door were hearing my cries for help. Even if they heard I bet they are ignoring it. Are those Micah's men outside? Where am I?

My whole body sagged down in defeat and silent tears escaped my eyes as I came in check with reality. How did everything end up like this? Is Logan okay? I just pray that he is alive right now. But I remember Vincent saying that he is dead just before I was injected. If that's true then- no, this can't be happening right now. Where did we go wrong?

If this is just a nightmare, then I hope I wake up soon from this. Because I don't think I can handle this. I can feel myself falling deeper and deeper into a dark pit hole, just like how I felt when my parents' were murdered a year ago. But that time, I had Sheriff, Aunt Jamie, and even Logan, Grecia, and Scar to pull me out of the hole. This time I doubt I can be pulled out.

My cries intensified with each passing second and before I knew it I was a crying mess on the floor. I bring my knees close to me and cry my eyes out. Vincent who was watching from the bed till now stood up and crouched in front of me on his knees.

"Stop crying, Karolia. Why are you crying?"

"Leave me. I want to get away from this place. Please let me go" I sobbed, pleading. Vincent chuckled and shook his head.

"That's impossible, sweetheart. You can't escape this time. There is nowhere to run. Every. Single. F**king. Door. are. Closed." Vincent declared in a low but clear voice. I weep, trying to calm my breathing down as I hear his words. My knuckles turn white as I grip my fingers tightly.

"Everything is settled now. Your boyfriend's dead, your back in Worcester, and you just have to sign the documents and do as we say. That's it. It's that simple." My crying ceased as soon as his words processed in my brain. I looked at him with wide eyes, not believing what he just said.

I'm in Worcester!!!?? Ohh God. What's happening? How am I in Worcester? How long was I out for?

I also refuse to acknowledge or take into mind the first thing he said. No, I firmly believe that Logan is still alive. He can't leave me like that. He promised. And knowing Logan he is always true to his words. But where is he then? Does he know I am in Worcester?

"H-How? Me….in Worcester….h-how?" I stuttered out in disbelief, my words were even coming out jumbled and disoriented.

"Surprised huh!" Vincent laughed again. "You will be again surprised to see how big we grew in this past year. Bringing you here without your knowledge is just a piece of cake now" he commented arrogantly.

"What do you want from me?" I scream-yelled at him and stood up from my sitting position. I'm done with this shit!

Vincent soon followed my action. "I believe I have already answered that question back in New York itself. But I am willing to make it clear again. You. It's you that I want." His eyes held a specific look in them, like always. And I felt stupid to not realize it sooner. He looked at me so lustfully and I wanted nothing but to throw up straight away. I shook my head in denial but nothing came out of my mouth.

"After I'm done with you, you will listen to what dad says and you are going to obey us without any objections. If you refuse then we will have to force you and trust me, you wouldn't like our ways." He smirked as he eyed my face. My stomach churn at the thought of even imagining what their ways might be.

"You can't do this. You can't just bring me here, keep me hostage and force me to do things that you and your bloody f***ing father asks me to." I say disgustingly, my nostrils flaring in anger. The next thing I know is the stinging sensation at the side of my face. I cup my cheek immediately at the pain, my eyes again filled with tears but this time I stayed silent and didn't let even a single sob escape. I'm not giving this bastard that satisfaction. I glare at him with my chin up.

I won't comply with these scoundrels, not in a million years.

"Trust me. You will, baby. I can assure you that. By the end of the day, you will be left with no choice." There was a wicked look in his eyes which made me frown instantly. I was about to ask him about that but Vincent's next words made my stomach drop to my feet.

"But before that, let me just have a taste of you." He stepped towards me and his big hands wrapped around my jaw to pull my face closer to him. "You have no idea how much I waited for this very moment" For a second I couldn't move nor process what he was doing. All I felt was shock at his actions.

When I recovered my face was just mere centimeters away from him and with my full strength I pushed him back, hard. But to my horror, his hold on me was stronger than I thought he and he didn't fall back as I expected him to. My eyes widened when my attempts to evade his kiss was turning futile. Vincent even pushed me back towards the wall and held both my wrists above my head with his one strong hand. Fresh tears again fall down my eyes as I struggle against him. But I didn't stop fighting. I lift my leg and knee him in his crouch, hard. Vincent immediately stumbled back, clutching his private area and yelped in pain.

I used that as a chance to getaway. I turned around to the door and shouted for someone to open the door. If I was yelling the last time, then now I am screaming my throat out.

I have to get out of here. That was my only thought now.

I felt like my hope died down when I felt Vincent's arm snake around my waist and he dragged me back, towards the bed. I thrashed in his arms and begged to all the forces above to free me from him. Just as I thought everything was over, the door swung open to reveal none other than Micah. My heartbeat stops for a second as soon as Micah's eyes lay on us.

"Vincent, let her go." Micah sneered. Vincent's grip loosened around me and I immediately jumped away without a second thought. I back away from both the men and lean against the wall before hugging myself. I feel disgusted right now.

"Why, Dad? She is mine from now on, then why are you interrupting?" Vincent asked him angrily.

"I told you can do whatever the f**k you want only after she signs the marriage license and the rest of the documents. Be patient, son." Micah scolded Vincent who had an irritated look on his face.

Marriage? What are they talking about? Documents? What are they planning to do to me?

"What is this, a conventional marriage? You are joking, aren't you?" Vincent chuckled while looking at Micah incredulously with his hands crossed.

"I'm not. So hold your horses" Micah snapped at him to which Vincent mutters some profanities before storming out of the room. He banged the door shut and the sound reverberated in the room.

I looked at Micah from the corner of my eyes. The man had a very emotionless face. Why am I not surprised? Isn't he the best at acting? He is the most double-faced man I have ever met.

"How are you doing, sweetheart?" Micah said with an evil smile displayed on his face.

"Don't ever call me that, you-" I was about to curse the hell out of him but he stopped me.

"Watch that mouth of yours, little girl. Keep in mind that you are standing in my place. I can damage you in just a second so you better act wisely." Micah uttered each word clearly and approached me with wide steps. My heartbeat escalated and I plastered myself on the wall more. He came close but kept a foot distance from me. I restrained myself from doing something stupid at this instant because I don't want to end up dead right away.

Patience

I must have patience. I will somehow try to figure out what I can do to get out of here. I can't give up just like that. I have to stay strong. Till that, Patience is fundamental.

"Listen here bitch, as soon as it is 10 in the morning, I will come back. I want you to sign all the documents that I'm going to give you and then you will marry my son."

"Why should I marry him?" I spat the question at him without any second thoughts. I have been hearing this for some time now and I'm not dumb enough to not ask them about it. I have to know what they are planning to do to me. Micah looked at me intensely before he stepped back and lifted his chin. The look on his face told me that the answer is not going to be something I will like.

"Well, you have everything that we want right now. Your stupid dad put all the money into an account under your name and the bastard set a criterion for it. Bullshit" Micah sneered angrily.

"He made the condition that only when you turn twenty, you will be notified by the bank about your account and then you can directly claim the account just by showing up to the bank and signing the documents." Micah seethed again in anger. His fists clenched at his sides. I can see how much my father's actions angered him.

"That's the only reason why I kept you alive that day. For me to get everything back, I needed you. I thought I lost everything completely when you ran away. I was devastated and I felt like bringing your dad back to life again and then killing him a hundred times again. I never knew I could experience an amount of rage that I did that day. But during that time I had the chance to read the original contract your father had with the bank and I noticed one detail. One such tiny detail which made my hope blossom. There was something that Benjamin mentioned which caught my eye. I have no idea what made him write that stupid decision but it turned out in my favor" Micah smirked darkly.

"It was written that the person whom you marry and even your children have access to the bank account, just like you can access. Here there's no restriction for your age as the previous condition" My eyes widened as I took in all the information. Did dad do that? How did I not know any of this? Why didn't he tell me anything? If he had prepared everything earlier it means he knew something might happen to him. Ohh, NO.

"That was a bingo for me. Then for several months, there wasn't a place I haven't searched for you. I kept on looking. I knew the Sheriff and his wife had a role in your disappearance, so I even got him. When he seemed to be useless, I had to finish him off"

The way he said it made me almost throw up in disgust. He said as if it was normal for him to kill a human being. He and his son are psychopaths for sure.

"So when you came straight to Worcester, it was very convenient for me from then on. I started planning ever since you left my house that night. It was pretty easy to fool you both though and I had fun sending you all those notes. I admit that your calculations were all good, but I guess as much as I underestimated Logan, he underestimated me too, which is why you ended up here."

I now clearly understood Micah's intentions. How didn't I see this coming? Shit, so he is planning to marry me to his son so that Vincent will be a Kingston and can access the account. Which means they are going to take all the money using me. I'm not sure what they are going to do to me once they get everything though. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want me alive.

"This is not going to happen. You can't make me do this. I refuse-" My words were cut short when Micah's hands squeezed my neck. He pressed me on the wall more and I thrashed in his hands when my oxygen was getting cut off. My legs slowly lifted and I was hanging on the wall a few inches above the ground. I couldn't move anymore and the only thing I was able to focus on was the lack of air in my lungs and my eyes rolling back as I felt myself drifting away.

"Hold on for just a little more and then you can go see your parents who are up above." Micah in a cloying tone. He is enjoying this, I know that for sure.

My eyes soon opened wide when the tightness in my throat was released. I fell on the ground with a thud as I wasn't able to balance myself anymore. My body felt limp, and I clutched my stomach coughing profusely when fresh oxygen reentered my breathing system.

"Don't even think about completing that sentence. There will be no other choice for you than to obey me, I will make sure of that." Micah eyed me for a few moments before I felt him walking away. But just when he was about to get out of the room he turned to me again, the door halfway open.

"And if you think about escaping from here, then let me warn you, the outcomes will not be in your favor." Micah ended his warning with that and closed the door. I heard the clicking sound of the door which meant that he had locked it.

I lay on the cold wooden floor and curl into a fetus position.

What do I do now?

I never thought my fate would end up like this. For what did I escape that day from him, if it meant that I would end up just right here, in the hands of the very same person? I thought God was just giving me another chance to live.

But why would You do that, make me hope for a future and now deprive me of it?

I yelled at God in my mind. Why is he so cruel? They said Logan is dead, and if that's true then I don't know what I'm going to do with myself. How can he die for me? This is not how it was supposed to end between us. I wanted more. We wanted more.

I'm holding on to this thin string of hope that somehow I can get away from all of this. I imagined the blue eyes of Logan which always made me forget about my reality. My heart ached and the tears fell non-stop. I have no idea how my tear glands haven't run out yet. I clutch my chest and my hand automatically went to trace the necklace but my eyes widened in shock when I couldn't feel it on me.

I sit up abruptly and trace through my shoulders and dress to feel the chain and my fear of losing it increased every second. I became more and more restless after I searched the filthy bed that I was sleeping on before. My movements halted when I realized that it might indeed be Micah's doings. But how did he know?

I clench my teeth in anger and bang on the main door. I yelled for someone to open up the door, to man up and let me out so that I could ask them all face to face.

"Bloody bastards, open the freaking door!!" I banged the door with my body and finally, I heard the unlocking sound of the door and backed away just as the door banged against the wall revealing Vincent and two more men alongside him.

"Why are you such a pain in the ass, sweetheart?" Vincent said with an annoyed look on his face. I glared at him.

"Why the hell did you take away my necklace?" I queried, trying to control my boiling anger. The response I got back was a loud laugh which was truly unexpected. I looked at him in confusion.

"Oh, boy. Did you think the tracker that was hiding inside that little thing would be left unnoticed by Dad?" Vincent asked, recovering from his laughter.

Shittt…. They found it.

Ohh no. That is the only way Log can ever reach me. If he is alive. And.. even Patrick who is supposed to monitor my location and audio will not be able to find out that I'm in Worcester.

I am really stuck.

I didn't realize that one of the men who was beside Vincent came to my side. I only snapped out of my thoughts when I felt him drag my body to the bed. I struggled and screamed to let go and when it proved to them that I was difficult to control the other man joined and they both effectively dragged me back and forcefully laid me on the bed. Vincent took out what seemed to be a syringe and advanced towards me.

"NOOOOO!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

"Just go to sleep sweetheart. I will wake you up when it's time to get married." He said with a sick smile and the next thing I know is darkness.

*******

(Two and half hours later)

Logan's POV:

I wait impatiently as I stare at the traffic light to change from red to green so that I could rush past this mob of cars and get to my destination fast. I bit my lips and stared at the phone that was dialing on my lap. I have been trying to call Dave Fernandez for the past half an hour and he hasn't picked up the phone yet.

"Relax, mate. We will get him. I just hope the location is right, if it is then there is no doubt we will catch him soon." Patrick consoled me and resumed the driving as soon as the traffic light sent the go signal.

"Yeah, we will. We have to." I acknowledged his second part of the line and ignored the first advice. How can I relax when I have no idea where Lia is or even what is happening to her? I just hope that she is all alive and holding on because I am coming for her and I am set on saving her. Nothing is going to stop me now.

As soon as I understood that Lia's location couldn't be identified anymore, I panicked and got out of the hospital at once after throwing a big tantrum at the hospital to release me. When I promised my doctor not to do much physical work she gave me my release but she didn't leave me without a ton of medications to follow up. Right now, I haven't felt any pain or abnormality and I believe it's because my whole mind is consumed with just one single thought.

To get my girl back.

After increasing fifteen more guards at the mansion and making sure that mom is safe, I took my private jet and flew to Worcester right away in just one hour. The ride was very short since I didn't have to stop in any of the local airports. Patrick somehow convinced Scarlet to stay at my place as well so that we don't have to send extra protection to her at Patrick's place. Patrick had also done a good job of sending a batch of our men to Worcester even before I woke up. He said as soon as he found the last location was Worcester airport he had sent our men within the next few hours.

The men first searched the entire airport and then raided Micah's house as soon as they landed. They reported none of the family members are at home except for Susan, who was there to do her daily job. Since I didn't want to take any chances I had ordered the men to keep her under surveillance too. I had asked the guards to stay at the same place and watch out for anyone who comes back to the house, but covertly. I don't trust anyone at this point and also I'm not ready to miss out on any details. Tyler also accompanied me and Patrick to Worcester. The boy was stubborn to help us and save his best friend that there was no use talking him out of it. I had asked William to stay back as he is not in great condition to travel.

Right now we are heading to Dave's place after our men gave us his address. I'm really glad that I had some dedicated folks who are working for me and I can see that they know how much this mission is important to me, so, therefore, they are also giving their best shot at this.

I just hope Dave is at his house so it will be easier for us to talk and ask him for details. Each passing second was excruciatingly tension-filled and painful. I just hope I can reach her in time before anything unwanted happens.

We arrive at Dave's house in twenty minutes and I rush out of the car instantly and head straight to the gate. I can say that Dave is living a very lavish life here although I'm not much sure about what he is doing to earn money. Lia did once tell me that he took over her foster grandparents' company, but I have yet to know how big or wealthy the family is.

The security guard at the gate stopped us from entering the house premises and we had somehow managed to make him give a notice to Dave that we were here. As soon as I understood that Dave was reluctant to allow us in, I barged inside the control room and asked Dave to allow me inside. I guess he must have seen the determination on my face through the doorbell monitoring system. He finally permitted to let us in.

"I need your help in something" That was the first thing that I said as soon as his door opened and Dave revealed himself in his expensive silk pajamas. I didn't beat around the bush and went directly to the reason for my arrival.

"Very direct." Dave eyed me, up and down. He noticed the bandages on my body and his brows furrowed but he didn't ask about it and rather invited me and Patrick inside.

"What is it, umm, whatever your name was?" Dave asked as soon as we settled on the couch.

"Logan Watson" I was about to speak further, but Dave cut me off.

"Did your girlfriend send you here to seize the rest of Kingstons' wealth?" he asked. "After all, she killed her parents for that right" My teeth gritted and fist clenched in anger. How dare he throw accusations at her without knowing or rather not believing the truth? Didn't he at least get to know about the court verdict about her parent's case? Lia told Micah sent his two men to surrender, where was this bastard then?

"Karolia didn't kill anyone" I snarl at him. Patrick placed a hand on my shoulder, warning me to not lose my cool. "It was Micah. He killed them. Karolia escaped from him" I said curtly, my patience thinning as seconds ticked.

"Ah...Benjamin's partner. Why am I not surprised?" Dave chuckled. "Benjamin knew how to select good friends" he teased again. My jaw hardened as irritation filled

"Look, I'm here because Micah took Karolia and he brought her here, in Worcester," I said slowly and clearly. "So I need your help to get more about Micah Malinov's whereabouts" My eyes were set on Dave to study his reactions. I can't help but doubt everyone I see. It was my mistake as well. I was blinded and didn't even throw Micah a second glance when we were here. I'm not going to repeat that mistake again. I have to confirm that Dave is not someone on Micah's side. Micah studied me in return for some moments before he said something that snapped the final thread of my patience.

"Sorry, I can't help. You may leave" he said and prepared to get up. I let out a deep sigh before getting up from the couch and walking towards Dave. Swiftly I grabbed his collar and with my clenched fist, I punched his jaw before he could even register what was happening. Dave had a shocked look on his face and even I could detect fear radiating off him. Good.

I pulled him closer to my face by his collar and my blue eyes bore into his widened ones.

"Listen here, bastard. Don't test my patience. The results won't be good for you" I snarled at him. "If I say you need to help, you must do it. Is that clear?" I growl at him. Dave nodded immediately. I pushed him back to the couch he was sitting before straightening up and took my seat as well. Patrick shook his head beside me, yet had a smirk on his face.

"Now, tell me all the information you know about Micah Malinov," I said in a dangerously calm tone. I could see Dave was breathing hard and I smirked internally to see he was scared.

"W-Well," he cleared his throat and straightened up. "I don't know much about Micah. But from what I have noticed, he is not the best person to be around and Benjamin was too dense to notice it"

"Didn't you warn him?" I asked, leaning forward.

"I did. But my relationship with Benjamin and family wasn't good. So he didn't bother about my statement" Dave shrugged his shoulders. His hand was cupping his jaw that looked purplish-red. Well, he deserved it.

"What else do you know about him?" Patrick asked from beside. Dave's eyes snapped towards him.

"Nothing more. He hasn't approached me after Benjamin's and Eleanor's death" Dave said. "I swear" he added upon noticing our skeptical stares. Patrick and I looked at each other and communicated through our eyes. We both were thinking the same.

We have to change our route if we need to find Karolia soon. And for that, we need to capture someone.
