Chapter 16: Difference.

"Where are you? I have something to discuss with you."

Returning home after leaving the hotel, Benjamin had barely changed into his pajamas when he received a message from Isabella. Gazing at the news momentarily, Benjamin could only sigh deeply before putting on his slippers and leaving his room to head toward Isabella's.

At this moment, the light in Isabella's room was still on. Benjamin knew that Isabella's invitation to her room was not for anything good. However, he had already decided that from now on, he would no longer tolerate her bullying.

Knock... knock!

"Come in!"

As knocking echoed, Isabella's small voice came from inside the room. Benjamin took a deep breath before slowly pushing the door open. However, just as he was about to close the door, Isabella's cold eyes were fixed on him.

"I want an explanation from you!"

Slightly startled, Benjamin had no idea what Isabella wanted him to explain. If it was about him intentionally causing Winston to spend so much money, making Isabella angry enough to summon him for questioning, wasn't that just her being too petty?

However, after speaking, Isabella saw Benjamin remaining silent and not answering her question. Her face immediately turned sour, and she snapped at him.

"Benjamin, I know you don't want to divorce me. But my relationship with Winston is none of your business. Don't think that you can do whatever you want just because you've achieved a little success, even sending someone to assault Winston. What do you mean by that?"

Being scolded by Isabella, Benjamin's face couldn't help but look bewildered.

"I sent someone to beat that idiot?"

"If it's not you, who else could it be?"

Seeing Benjamin's feigned innocent appearance, Isabella's voice grew even louder. However, at that moment, the ringing of Benjamin's phone in his pocket suddenly interrupted them. He was slightly surprised as he saw an unknown number calling him. He initially didn't intend to answer, but for some reason, he swiped the screen to pick up the call. Immediately after, a man's overly ingratiating voice came through the phone.

"Master of my boss, we just helped you teach that Winston guy a lesson. He's been beaten so badly that he's in the hospital and won't be able to leave for at least a few days. What do you think? Are you satisfied with how we handled him?"

Because Benjamin had yet to pay attention to the volume of the call, it was pretty loud. Not only could he hear the voice, but Isabella could also hear it.

At this point, it wasn't about explaining anymore. Benjamin didn't even know how to clear his name.

"This... I..."

"Get out! From now on, I don't want to see your face ever again!"

Being chased out of the room by Isabella, Benjamin felt highly annoyed. He originally planned to take advantage of this opportunity to badmouth Winston. However, unexpectedly, before he could tarnish Winston's reputation, he had already lost face in front of Isabella.

It wasn't his fault, though. If anyone was to blame, Tiger's people called at such an inopportune time. Nevertheless, Benjamin didn't plan to explain himself. He felt Isabella had too much trust in Winston, and no matter what he said, he couldn't compete with that fool.

Feeling upset, Benjamin sighed silently. He returned to his bedroom, intending to take a long nap. A lot had happened today, and he wanted to rest.

However, just as Benjamin was about to turn off the lights and sleep, his phone rang again. Seeing an unknown number calling, Benjamin was furious, answered, and shouted angrily.

"Damn it! Are you all tired of living? Bothering me like this, don't you know when to stop?"

But as soon as Benjamin's voice had come out halfway, his expression suddenly froze. Then, a very gentle voice from Olivia came through the phone.

"Benjamin, who are you angry with?"

Hearing her voice, Benjamin couldn't help but feel embarrassed. He scratched his head and explained.

"I'm sorry, I thought someone was calling to bother me again. I didn't expect it to be you at this time. Is there anything you need?"

Trying to hide his embarrassment, Benjamin quickly changed the subject. On the other end of the phone, Olivia hesitated momentarily before speaking with a hint of reluctance.

"I'm sorry; I didn't think I'd bother you at this time. But my car broke down. Can you come and give me a ride home? Of course, if you don't have time, I can ask someone else."

Olivia sounded a bit worried, fearing that Benjamin might misunderstand her. She wanted to explain further, but Benjamin was fun and laughed before replying.

"Ha ha ha, I thought it was not something serious. That's easy! Just wait for me a bit; I'll be right there. But you have to treat me to dinner later."

"Ah!"

Before Olivia could react, Benjamin had already hung up the phone and quickly changed his clothes to rush outside.

"Miss, have you been waiting for me long?"

Seeing Benjamin appear, Olivia hadn't had time to recover. She didn't expect him to be so fast. Not even five minutes had passed since their conversation ended, and he was already in front of her.

Although she felt flustered, Olivia calmed down as she saw Benjamin approaching. She looked at him with a sweet smile.

"I'm sorry for bothering you at this time. Did the CEO say anything?"

Upon hearing Isabella's name, the smile on Benjamin's face instantly froze. Fortunately, he reacted quickly and forced a grin, replying: "It's not a big deal. She has so much going on. How could she pay attention to someone like me? Besides, I usually stay up late anyway. And my stomach is growing with hunger. Aren't you inviting me to dinner?"

As he spoke, Benjamin deliberately winked, looking rather comical. Olivia couldn't help but cover her mouth and giggle for a moment. She followed Benjamin into the car, beginning their leisurely drive around the city.

Since it was the weekend, the streets were bustling, even after ten o'clock at night. Benjamin and Olivia were good-looking, so their stroll drew curious glances.

However, Benjamin didn't care, and Olivia was perfectly at ease. She was already used to the attention of others. As they wandered around together, Olivia's demeanor wholly transformed.

She no longer carried the air of a restaurant owner but instead seemed like a carefree child. She excitedly dragged Benjamin into small eateries, trying various dishes, showing no signs of being a mature woman approaching her thirties.

Benjamin didn't mind this; however, he felt incredibly relaxed and joyful being with Olivia without any pressure.

"Benjamin, how about this dish? Is it good?"

"Well, it tastes alright, but it's quite greasy and unhealthy!"

"Benjamin, what about this one?"

"Um, it's a bit bland, not spicy enough. I think it could use some more chili to enhance the flavor!"

The two of them continued walking and chatting for a long time, oblivious to the time that had passed. They finally stopped in front of a spicy hot pot restaurant about five or six hundred meters from the beach. Then, Olivia exclaimed in surprise: "Oh, how did I bring you here?"

Seeing Olivia's startled expression, Benjamin's eyes filled with curiosity. She quickly explained: "This is my friend's hot pot restaurant. Her family has been running it for over thirty years. Their spicy hot pot is delicious; do you want to go in and give it a try?"

As she spoke, Olivia playfully winked at Benjamin. At that moment, he realized how adorable his former mistress could be. Without hesitation, he nodded in agreement.

"Since we're already here, let's go in quickly. After all, I also love spicy hot pot!"

At that moment, the restaurant was packed with customers coming and going. However, when Benjamin and Olivia entered, the patrons inside couldn't help but turn their heads, their gazes primarily focused on Olivia.

"Tsk tsk, it seems our boss lady still has quite the charm. You've captivated the hearts of everyone here, haven't you?!"

Realizing the gazes of everyone around them, Benjamin felt a bit embarrassed and playfully glanced at Olivia, causing her face to turn bright red.
