New enemy, new day

Damon had a cold and aloof personality that made him seem like he wanted to shatter the hopes of his classmates by saying harsh things to them. But Mr. Parkinson, knew that Damon was not a heartless person. He knew that Damon cared about his classmates' well-being and future, even if he did not show it openly. If Damon had no interest in something, he would simply ignore it and not waste his time or energy on it. The fact that he spoke up in class meant that he wanted to help his classmates improve and succeed.

His classmates also understood this, even though they might have been hurt or offended by his words at first. They realized that Damon was not trying to belittle them, but to challenge them and motivate them to do better. They appreciated his honesty and his high standards, and they respected him for his intelligence and skills. Whenever they looked at him, their eyes showed a hint of gratitude and admiration, instead of resentment or anger.
