Moving on

As the streak of sword light vanished into the distance, the immense and intimidating aura that had surrounded Derek slowly dissipated, leaving behind a drained and pale figure. Derek's body shivered uncontrollably, and he couldn't hold back a pained cough, spitting out a mouthful of blood. His legs wobbled beneath him, and he staggered back, dangerously close to collapsing.

Just as Derek teetered on the brink of weakness, Katherine, his trusted companion and confidante, landed gracefully by his side. Her keen eyes immediately locked onto his terribly pale face, and her heart skipped a beat.

She knew the depths of Derek's condition better than anyone, having witnessed him try to repair his damaged God soul before. The dragon heritage within him was the most vulnerable and fragile part, and using it came at a tremendous cost. Seeing him hold up his draconic presence for so long had been a clear sign of desperation.
