Eloise's POV:
In any case, Atticus was still an Alpha. If there were a scandal about him having an affair, it would have a terrible impact. That was why I know he never allowed me to keep any images of him.
I thought Lisa would be the same. Even if Atticus treated her well, she wouldn't receive special treatment.
That was because Atticus was ambushed before. So, this was his bottom line.
Lisa knew that I had the habit of deleting chat records and that I was very concerned about matters related to the family. So she probably never thought I could use the chat records to fight back.
Just as I thought, her sweet expression cracked like a mask. She looked at me as if she wanted to eat me.
"Answer my question." Atticus looked at her as if he was interrogating her.
'Well done.' That voice rang in my head again. But this time, I felt my bones were in even more pain. I tried my best to maintain a smile, but the truth was that I couldn't even move my body. I could fall at any moment.
"I'm not... I didn't! I didn't record those! Someone must have stolen my account. But, no, I can't remember that. My head hurts now." She swayed left and right a few times, then closed her eyes and fell in Atticus' direction.
Atticus caught her and ran out of the office with her. He didn't even have time to speak to me. He only gave me a fierce look.
It was as if he was saying that if he found out that I was the one who had done something, he would teach me a lesson.
I wasn't surprised at all that I was already used to this situation because he had been like this for the past few years. It was just that when this happened, I heard the staff members outside the door sighing. They were touched by what Atticus had done. They believed that Lisa would be the future Luna.
When I heard that, I couldn't ignore it. After all, no matter what, I was still Atticus' wife.
"Are you here to punish me?" I turned around and looked at Jude standing nearby. I had reason to believe that he, too, thought I did it. After all, only the three of us were in the room earlier.
My phone kept vibrating in my pocket. This meant I had received replies to the emails I sent out. However, since Jude was right in front of me, I had no chance to open it. I didn't have the strength to find more trouble for myself.
"Until there's no evidence to prove what you did, I will still treat you as an Alpha's wife." He only nodded at me. Then, he walked to the door. I heard him dispersing the employees watching the commotion and restoring peace to the area.
His answer couldn't have been more perfect, and he did help me.
But things were definitely not that simple.
I pried open a gap in the blinds. Even though Jude was there, more people were looking at me. Those so-called scandals were repeated in their mouths as if they did exist. The voices in my mind became more and more blurry. I shook my head and tried to ignore them completely.
'Don't worry about your mate.' A voice said in my head.
'He won't betray you.'
It was that voice again. At the same time, my bones hurt even more.
But Atticus was only my husband. How could he be my mate? I wanted to refute it, but the increasingly intense pain almost made me groan.
Before this, I could barely bear the pain, but I realized that I couldn't even remain standing this time. I couldn't help but lean in one direction.
However, just before I fell, I didn't know if it was an illusion, but Atticus suddenly appeared in front of me. When I touched his skin, I felt incomparably at ease. A warm and numbing feeling surrounded me, and a pleasant scent I'd never smelled before filled my nose. It greatly relieved my pain.
Perhaps I was going to die, but it was not bad to feel this when I was close to death. All of this was finally coming to an end.
