Chapter 5

Hunters POV

Hunter wasn’t always where he is today although he had been raised in a wealthy family .It wasn’t always as simple his parents Debra and Jacob were not the type to let their children have all the riches they were born with . They wanted them to learn about the struggles that they went through so it would be worth being at the top .There are so many things he had to sacrifice all the parties while everyone was out he would stay in and study. He didn’t have the privilege of having fun but it paid off for him because none of the people he had gone to school with were where he is right now. “No Serena ,I’m telling you to cancel my schedule today . I don’t care if they have a problem with that or not point is, tell everyone I’ll see them on Monday”. He feels so angry on this particular day such that he feels that if he were to see anyone today he would be shouting and feel irritated .For once he doesn’t want to see anyone , he wants a day off for himself .Without the meetings , presentations and all the decisions he has to make . Everyone always says no pressure like its easy , like all it takes is 5 seconds to take a deep breath and all his problems will be solved .So for once he is planning to go home and read a book and take a nap. As he walks towards his car , he hears soft moans of a woman crying .He thinks to himself how annoying it is that people cry in public , he was taught to never show weakness in any way possible .He wants to move on so he can finally rest but something is not allowing him , something is drawing him towards the frail figure of the woman slouched on the bench crying excessively .He decides to move closer towards her and in his head he thinks of what he is going to say to her , so she allows him to say what he wants to say. Standing over her he utters the words “A pretty woman like you doesn’t deserve to be so sad” . He says hoping she will not be frightened by him .Hunter would not normally do things like this but he feels like if he doesn’t he will never be able to rest his mind. “I would like to make you feel better” he says hoping he doesn’t sound weird. “I’m fine, just having a bad day nothing too bad “she says wiping the tears from her eyes and picking her stuff up from the ground to get up .He can see in her eyes that she is upset and wants to be left alone but for some reason he still pushes because for some reason he wants to see her smile . “ You can’t buy me on this you look like you are having more than a bad day so let me make you feel better. And I swear that is all I want to do truly just let me”. Still even after all he has said he can still see the uncertainty and hesitation in her eyes .The desire she has of just fleeing from the whole situation. But still he pushes. “I’m not going to hurt you or anything but I just feel like you are in need of some comfort or something .Because no one just chooses to sit on a bench by a parking lot in the middle of the day to cry. Which means you are feeling really sad so let me try to make you feel better .From the look in her eyes now he knows that there’s no way she can refuse his proposal . “Okay, I accept your offer” she says standing up fully this time .Knowing that he was able to persuade her into accepting his offer he can’t help but feel relived . He feels as though he has done something so great. “Let us get some lunch, I can tell you need something to eat” he tells her and takes her bags for her and leads her to his car. They get in and he tells his driver to take them to his restaurant .That way he knows she will be comfortable because there won’t be people staring at her .It will just be both of them meaning that she will not feel scared to talk to him about what is on her mind and why she is feeling like this. All he wants for her to be comfortable and at ease .To make her trust him enough for her to let out all her burdens on him .Hunter is brought out of his thought when the car come to a stop and Jonathan opens the door for them .He steps out of the car first to see the familiar building , that he recently bought from his father . “We won’t be long so don’t be far away” he tells Jonathan .To which he acknowledges what he is saying and goes into the car and drives off .He does something he normally would feel weird doing , he grabs her hand and leads her into the entrance of the restaurant . “Mr. Rivers how are you this afternoon”. The doorman keeper Monty greets them and because he feels irritated by this he says nothing in return. As they enter the air is fresh and cool . The whole place is empty and clean . At least people know to do their job he thinks to himself .If there is one thing hunter doesn’t like is people who do not do what they are told . He lead her to one of the table and they sit down . He watches her for a reaction and he can tell that she is feeling overwhelmed and flustered for some reason .Jeremy comes rushing to their aid and offers them menus . “Welcome back sir and good afternoon mam is there anything you would like .This weeks special is legume butternut soup and spicy shrimp”. As he looks at her he senses that she is feeling doubtful and questioning everything and that she wants nothing more to run out of the place .This irritates and angers , he feels his emotions slipping out of his control. On top of that she starts threatening to actually leave, this strikes something in him. Not meaning to ,he shouts and orders for her to sit down .
