At the Malhotra mansion.
The Malhotra family was discussing the upcoming family event sitting in the living room.
The room was exceptionally huge, with a big rectangular sofa at the center and a beautifully carved wooden center table. A chandelier hung at the center of the ceiling, giving it a stately look, and most of the interior was white.
It was the Thirty-th wedding anniversary of the head of the family, Mr. Ram Malhotra, so the family had decided to hold a grand celebration party for the couple. The whole family was excited about it.
Ram the man, old by looks but young by heart, was sitting on the sofa along with his wife Reeta Malhotra.
He was not really old but still there were some wrinkles on his forehead and eyes showed fine lines of experience , his lips had a small smile of adoration for his family and eyes held some excitement.
His wife Reeta was a lovely and graceful lady. She was kind-hearted towards everyone, but strict at the same time , she held that i-am-the-head aura around her along with a motherly touch .
"Ma-Papa , what do you think of our idea? Should we celebrate your wedding anniversary grandly?" The elder son of the family Ayush asked.
Others present there, noticed the change of expressions on Ram's face when these words were uttered and they prepared themselves to drink vinegar.
"You punk! How dare you ask this question? You should definitely celebrate it. Don't forget, you were brought to the world because we got married."
As expected, everyone was speechless. His wife, Reeta, looked calm as she knew her husband's nature. He never let go of a chance to show his strong presence slip with his sharp tongue.
'Papa never disappoints me,' thought the elder son, having a smile on his face.
Ram was a moody. If he was in a nice mood, he would act akin to an angel, but if he was in a bad mood, he would transform into the devil.
No one dared to defy him. Even his elder son Ayush, who was one of the influential businessmen in the country, always bowed down in front of his father. The same went for his younger son, Ankur .
Everyone in the family respected and loved Ram because he always prioritized his family. He never stopped his children from doing what they wanted to do and always supported them. He loved his wife a lot that even at this age, everyone could see his affection towards her.
The atmosphere was silent. Ram looked at everyone and spoke again, "As we are talking about your origins, we want to make ourselves prouder and take one step ahead as the originators."
Everyone looked at each other, hoping to understand the meaning behind those words. Ram saw their clueless faces and frowned.
"I meant to say… now it's time for us to see our grandchildren."
Upon hearing this, everyone sighed in relief of having understood the meaning of the previous words.
"Papa i only got married a year back and you are whining about grandchildren , I am too young to be a father , why don't you ask others to fulfill your wishes. " Ankur said and looked at his elder brother Ayush .
Ankur's words did nothing but anger Ram .
"All of you are nothing but a headache to me , I thought after having three sons atleast one of them will fulfill my wishes but no , all of you are having fun in your lives but what about us , we old couple just sit in this house like show pieces . What advantage of having sons , one is so busy with work that he is not free to get married , other just got married atleast but he is too young to be a father and third one is out of reach , have that idiot ever called any one of you . " Ram said looking at Ayush.
"Oh please Ram , stop this emotional drama of yours , why are you behind my sons let them live their lives , it was your idea to handover business to Ayush and Ankur is right he just got married let him spend some time with his wife and about your third one i am sure my son will come back soon ." Reeta said wile slapping Ram's arm .
"Well Papa, I have hired one of the best event management companies for this. With only three days to spare, all the invitations have been sent out," informed Ayush while trying to divert his father's mind from the topic of his life.
"So you have already planned everything, huh? Then, what was the point in asking my opinion? Made me drain my energy, you punk!" Ram exclaimed.
"Hmmm...that....umm".
Ayush knew his father , he was like a melodramatic person who always had some answer , no sorry sarcastic answers for them .
" Now stop all this nonsense and go to your respective works but just call that idiot brother of yours and tell him to come back home before the function." Ram said and left for his room .
