Chapter 05 • Only god can help

As Ayush was on the way to the hospital along with all the family members, he called his assistant to inquire about Abha's condition.

"Sneha, what exactly happened to Abha, and why did you call me, there is no news about the accident on the news channel?" Ayush asked.

"Sir, actually I was present there when the accident happened. I was at a shop nearby and when I saw the people involved in that accident I immediately called you and retained the media from publishing the news. And about Abha's condition, so she is fine just some minor injuries and some fractured bones and she is unconscious may be due to shock but the girl present with her in the car is severely injured, mainly her head, from where I saw and heard the emergency doctors." Sneha, Ayush's assistant answered.

"Girl present with her?" Ayush asked, because from where he knows Abha was on the way to the function hall alone.

"Yeah, there was a girl present in the car with her, and it seems like she tried to protect Abha ma'am and got her head injured in the process," Sneha replied.

"Okay, where are you right now?"Ayush asked.

"Sir, right now I am at the hospital with the patients...oh shit." Sneha cursed in between her sentence.

"What happened Sneha?" Ayush asked worriedly.

"Sir, just now Ankur sir entered the cabin of doctors where the meeting about the accident patients is going on and I think he doesn't know that ma'am is one of the patients," Sneha said and moved towards the meeting hall.

"She keeps an eye on Ankur and I will reach there within 5 minutes. " Ayush said and hung up the call.

"Oh God, I just hope that my daughter is fine." Reeta, who heard all the conversations between Ayush and Sneha along with all the other family members prayed.

"Ma don't worry I am sure Abha is fine because if Sneha said that she has minor injuries then she is fine." Ayush assured his mother.

"How are you so sure Bhai (brother)?" Yuvaan asked.

"Because Sneha is a well-trained NCC and Red Cross cadet." Ayush said.

"And how you know that?" Yuvaan asked again.

"Because I am her boss and I hired her after seeing her resume. We are here." Ayush replied to Yuvaan in the meantime they reached the hospital.

Malhotra's family just rushed inside the hospital. After reaching there, Yuvaan saw Ankur standing outside the private ward and talking to some doctors with a worried face.

Inside the private ward, Abha was lying with some cast on her and a bandage on her head. By the look, she did not seem to be severely injured but her face was gloomy.

Malhotra's Family went into the room and met her, she told them she is fine when asked, and she told them that she was coming to the hall with her sister as she wanted to surprise everyone but the accident happened and she is in critical condition.

The males of the Malhotra Family assured her that her sister will be fine and they went to talk to the doctors, while Reeta stayed with her.

Reeta was the mother to Abha that she never had, she got to know that there is something more than Abha is not telling them.

Rent a went to her and held her hand in her own.

"Abha, the child I know that you are worried for Appu but trust me, she will be fine. We will do anything for her to be fine and you know that." Reeta said.

"I-i know Ma." Abha replied.

"Now tell me what is bothering you? And I won't listen that there is nothing, so tell me." Reeta asked.

Hearing Reeta Abha could not control herself and tears started to run from her eyes.

"Ma...Ma I am sor.....sorry. I couldn't save him." Abha said and cried badly.

"Save whom? Was there someone else with you too?" Reeta asked.

"My-my ch...child Ma," Abha said.

"Your what?" Reeta asked surprised.

"I...I was pregnant Ma. I got to know about it a week back but I wanted to tell you all today as a surprise gift, but I lost him and now my Appu is also injured because she tried to save me and my child." Abha told Reeta.

"Abha, my child looks at me," Reeta said and wiped her tears."Listen, it was not your fault okay. It's just that we were not supposed to get that baby right now that's why we didn't okay. Now stop crying, we could not do anything about that, just forget about it and focus on your recovery. Your health right now is the most important thing for us. And we will get a team if our grandchildren when the time is right." Reeta consoled her, and soon Abha slept due to the effect of the medicines while Reeta prayed for the well-being of her family because only God was the one who they can rely on.

.....

On the other side, Ankur was busy in talking to the doctors about Aparna.

"Dr.Malhotra I think she tried to cover your wife. After looking at the injuries she got on her back, I am sure that she tried to shield your wife from the crash as the glass from the windshield had pierced her back and it also affected her brain. I don't know what to say you are the best neurosurgeon you know all this better." Ankur's fellow doctor told him about Aparna's condition, he was the one who attended Aparna when she came to the hospital.

"I know Dr.Sharma all I want is permission from all the doctors so I can operate on her," Ankur said.

"I know how you are feeling Dr.Malhotra but even if you own this hospital we still can't do that, we can't allow you to operate on her, you can be present there as number 2 but not as the main person. You still are mentally unstable to perform a surgery on your family member." Dr. Sharma said.

"But---" Before Ankur could argue Ayush stopped him.

"Ankur I think they are correct, you can't operate on Aparna, I know how you are feeling but right now you have to be present with Abha, she needs you beside her. You both have lost your first unborn."

"That's the point Bhai(brother), I have lost our unborn child already and I don't want to risk it with our living child too, Aparna is like our daughter Bhai, I can't see her in pain when I know I can do something," Ankur said and tears started to flow from his eyes.

"That's the reason Ankur, don't do that, let the doctors do their work and you can treat her once she wakes up from this accident, for now, her other body parts need to be treated first then we can see what we can do. I know how it feels cause I was at this stage once too but you helped me right, you treated my granddaughter and now she is totally fine, so let the others go and you go to your wife. " Dr. Gaur, Ankur's senior, and his teacher said to him.
