It was now a matter of life and consciousness. I sat beside his bedridden body which hadn't moved in the past hours except for when his pretty girlfriend had moved him to kiss his forehead, a sight that was an ick to behold.
She had excused herself to get some stuff and to change her clothes.
I stared at him and back at the monitor to check his improvement which seem to be better. I smiled softly before sitting back down and resuming the book I was reading.
I looked back at him and thought about how I had stopped doing a lot of things that I enjoyed doing, including reading novels and drinking coffee. I was too busy being in love with him to do all that.
I opened through the pages and stopped right on that which I was. I scanned my eyes through the lines and began reading.
A few drops of tears escaped his eyes as he picked his wife up, placing her well in his arms as he trod the long hallway from the library.
