Taking responsibility isn't just about putting things back to order and getting them in place, it is more about making sure what was put in place doesn't happen again. That was exactly what I was doing.

I have been so busy that calling Caroline and listening to my son's voice might seem like the wrong thing to do. A lot of damage had been done hence why I needed to take my time to get things right.

Since Jessie has been out of prison, I have no idea if telling Caroline was the right thing to do or not. I wanted to sort everything out so she'd have nothing to worry about.

The fact that Derrick had not been seen nor heard makes everything a little too difficult to tame. I was being cynical about going outside my way to find him and make sure he rots in jail where he truly belongs but everything was certain after thing about my family's safety.
