"Hey, Jessie," I said immediately after she picked up the call.

"Ma'am," she said in a more exciting tone and if not that I was in some type of mood right now, I'd have been so interested to know what she was up to.

"I'm out of town and I would not be back until tomorrow. Could you please take care of Alex for me? And please, stay with him overnight,"

"Oh, that's no problem, ma'am. We're in fact on our way to his violin class,"

"Oh, that's good. One more thing. Please, his bedtime remains to be by 9 and today isn't an exception,"

"Oh, sure. Roger that," she said and I could hear her mild chuckle. "Can I say something though?"

"Since you'd not be back until tomorrow, it'd be hard to have him sleep while he starves or do I just take him to eat out?"
