The Owl And The Foxes

"Wow, you sure have an appetite." Orion said. As an apology, he decided to treat the two of them to dinner. Let's just say Nora was starving. "So, give me one good reason I shouldn't just turn you over right now, and claim the reward for your capture.". Nora slowed down and glared at him saying "If you do, I'll sick the rabbit on you.". He looked confused, watching Lucky chew on some veggies left out for him.

"I'm sorry, but aren't you the princess of thieves, why should I believe anything you say?" He retorted. Charlotte then said "Can't we all just eat in peace?!".

"I see, so you're just trying to get home, huh?" He asked once him and Charlotte were alone. "Yeah, I've got no intention of staying bound to her longer than I have to. Just until I get home." She said. Surprisingly, he dropped his calm demeanor and smiled, saying "There is a bounty hunter in this place you know.... Hunters.". She looked at him and said "I'm sorry did you just say hunters.... As in plural?!".

He nodded and said "The arctic foxes, a 4 man squad who stay in permafrost for their target, even if their prey leaves the kingdom. I'd recommend you stay for a while. I'm throwing a party tonight, and it'll be the perfect place to lay low.". She sighed and said "Might as well, thanks Orion. Glad to know I've at least got you in my corner.". Then he did something that is a rare sight.

He smiled. He looked at her and said "Well, they don't call me the Frozen Owl for nothing.".

"This is stupid! I look stupid!" Nora said hiding behind a door. Orion was wearing the same outfit as earlier, only with a pale blue crown, blue gems on little peaks, like icicles. Charlotte was wearing a bright yellow dress, and golden lipstick. "Nora, come on, you won't know unless you try!" Charlotte said. "Well I've been told dresses don't suit me okay!".

They heard the door crack open and Orion said "It can't possibly be that bad.". Once she stepped out, Orion's face turned into that of a tomato, and Charlotte's nose started bleeding. "H-how do I look?" Nora said nervous. She was wearing a flowing black dress, with no straps at the shoulders, and long black gloves covering her hands. Little red gems lined it, emmitting a shining effect.

"You're gorgeous." They both said. The two snapped out of it with Charlotte saying "I'm gonna go get some tissues!". Orion then said "I'll escort you down!".

"So, what's the gameplan?" Nora asked as they were heading down and Charlotte caught up. "Have fun. I'll deal with anyone who gets too suspicious." He responded. The three walked out into a large, fully lit ball room, lights shining as people danced. Nora took one look at a table full of snacks and beverages, and her eyes lit up. "Alright Nora, it's important that we keep a low profile.... Nora? NORA?!".

She then witnessed her raiding the snack table thinking 'SHE ATE AN HOUR AGO!'. She then just sighed and decided to mingle a bit.

*30 minutes later*

Charlotte sighed before seeing Orion walk over, and hold out his hand. "Emergency." He said as she took it. The two started to dance and Orion said "4 figures, fox mask, came in a few minutes ago. Most likely they'll be targeting our mutual friend.". She looked around and said "I know how to handle this.". She let go of him and went over towards Nora, who looked bored.

She took her hand and said "Enemies incoming, I think Orion has a plan-". She then heard the music change, and people got in pairs to dance. "What is he doing?!" She questioned while looking towards him. He just shrugged and mouthed 'I don't know just go with it!'. Nora saw the two pairs of foxes coming towards them and said "Give me your hand!".

She understood what that meant and the two started to dance together. One pair of the bounty hunters came at them and Nora said "Are you ready?". Charlotte nodded. Nora then took a bottle of wine from a cart and the people around them spread out into a ring. One pair came at them, and split apart. "Heads up!" Nora said taking the hand of one of them and pulling them away.

Charlotte did a bow and said "May I have this dance?". The fox went at her, taking out a small knife. She danced around it (Literally) and hit them over the head with the bottle. Meanwhile Nora grabbed the Fox, and flipped them over, slamming them into the ground. "Charlotte, you okay?!" She yelled looking towards her. She saw the other two coming over and she said "Nora.... Let's dance.".

She took her hand and said "Follow my lead.". Nora had them get close and then said "Alright.... How about a twirl for good luck?". Charlotte nodded, and Nora twirled her towards the hunters. While she was twirling, she kicked the two of them, forcing them to their knees. Nora then ran past them, hitting them both in the head, running into the arms of Charlotte.

She then twirled with her in her arms, and held her. "Suck it foxes!".

"And then, we twirled through the dance floor!" Charlotte said, explaining how it went to Orion. "You seem to really get along with her.... Makes me wonder, if it really is just about you going home." He said. She thought about it and said "Look, whatever you think is going on, it isn't! Besides.... We'd have to go right back to our stupid boring lives so.... It's not happening.".

Orion sighed and said "Fine, I'll see if I can get in contact with Ethan, he'll be able to assist you better than I can.". Meanwhile, Nora was thinking. She then looked to the side to see Lucky staring at her. "Yo, rabbit!" She said getting his attention. "I need you to be my wingman.".
