Apologize

Xu Anyi did not care as she scanned the room, a look of disdain in her eyes, "It's been five years, yet all of you haven't changed at all. Not only are all of you still ugly on the outside, but it seems like inside, all of you have gotten uglier too."

Then, she marched out of the room, slamming the door behind her as she sprinted down the hallway without looking back. She did not even have to reach the elevator for the regret to sink in immediately, but it was too late.

She rode the elevator back down to the kitchen, where she entered and began washing dishes again, ignoring Lan Yu's question asking her where she was.

A few minutes later, a worker came in and tapped her on the shoulder, "Manager Su told me to tell you to go to room 703 immediately."

Xu Anyi took off her gloves slowly and wiped her hands, leaving the kitchen under Lan Yu's confused look. Of course that group of people wouldn't just let her insult them and get away with it. . . She knew she was in trouble.

When she entered the room again, she saw Su Yan standing in front of the couch, bowing her head down as she repeated, "I'm so sorry."

She turned around when she heard the door open, and when she saw Xu Anyi, her expression immediately darkened as she grabbed onto Xu Anyi's arm and pulled her over forcefully, "Is it her?"

The man that had forced Xu Anyi to drink wine earlier nodded his head as he leaned back against the couch comfortably, crossing his legs together, "It seems like Yihua's management is getting worse. Do you guys not have enough money to train the workers anymore?"

"I am so sorry, young master Lin. She is a new hire, I will definitely punish her. What are you still doing standing there?! Hurry and apologize!"

Xu Anyi glared at the man, who looked especially pleased right now.

Su Yan's face darkened even more when Xu Anyi did not move or say anything, and she lowered her voice as she spoke in a hushed whisper into Xu Anyi's ear, "Do you still want this job or not?! Hurry and apologize!"

Xu Anyi continued to make eye contact with the man, and after several seconds, she lifted her chin up slightly as she said, "I'm sorry."

It was just an apology. Even if she knew she did nothing wrong, she had no other choice but to apologize. She needed this job, and after five years, she learned that pride was the most useless thing and would only hurt her in situations like this.

"What did you say? I couldn't hear," the man said with a smile.

Several people had pulled out their phones and began recording with a smug smile, but Xu Anyi pretended not to see.

"I'm sorry."

"Not sincere enough," the man continued, "Show some sincerity."

Xu Anyi clenched her fists together tightly, but Su Yan cleared her throat softly so only she could hear, and she took a deep breath, bending her upper body down slightly as she repeated loudly, "I'm sorry!"

Several people in the room couldn't hold in a laugh as they watched her, delighted at the sight of the old jewel of the city bending down in front of them.

"Young master Lin, I will definitely scold her. I am so sorry, I will send over a bottle of wine on me tonight," Su Yan continued, bowing down as well several times.

The man shut his eyes and nodded slightly, lifting his hand up to signal that he had forgiven her. Su Yan let out a breath of relief and turned around to leave the room, pulling Xu Anyi out with her.

After the door had closed, Su Yan marched over to the elevator, and Xu Anyi followed behind her silently.

When they reached the elevator door, Su Yan whipped around, lifting a finger up as she pointed it at Xu Anyi's face, "What do you think you are doing?! Do you know who is in that room? How dare you offend them?! Who do you think you are?!"

She frowned, "And what are you even doing in that room?! Didn't I tell you to go wash dishes? Did you come up here by yourself to try and sneak into one of the rooms?!"

"I didn-"

"You're fired!"

Xu Anyi knit her eyebrows together as she looked up, "But you said that if I apologized, I would get to keep the job."

"You do not know the rules at all! I do not want a worker like you! Leave!"

"I didn't come up here by myself. Another worker gave me a tray of wine during my break and told me to bring it up here, and I couldn't just leave it there so I came up."

Su Yan raised one eyebrow, not completely believing her words.

"I know I shouldn't have talked back at the guests. . . I won't do it again." Xu Anyi pressed her lips together, saying through clenched teeth, "Can you give me another chance?"

Su Yan stared at her, unsure of whether she should believe her words, and they stood in silence for several seconds. Then, there was a ding as the elevator arrived and the door slowly slid open.

"Fine, I will give you one more chance. However, you will not get your pay today as punishment."

She walked into the elevator, "Go home and reflect on your mistakes and come back tomorrow. I do not want this to happen ever again."

Then, the elevator door closed and Xu Anyi was left alone in the empty hallway.

She stood there for a while before she sighed and slowly turned around, dragging her tired body into the stairway as she began climbing down the stairs one by one, her footsteps echoing in the dark stairway.

Room 703

After the exciting drama, the atmosphere in the room rose once again as people began talking and playing around, the conversation sometimes revolving around Xu Anyi.

A few minutes later, the door opened again and everyone turned around to see who it was.

A girl who appeared to be in her early 20s walked in, wearing an angelic white dress that reached her knees and heels of a matching white color. Her long, black hair fell like a waterfall behind her back, and her pale skin seemed to glow in the dim lighting.

She had very light natural makeup on, and it created a sharp contrast from the heavy makeup other girls in the room wore. All attention was drawn to her as she stepped into the room and looked around with a pure, innocent expression.

The girl named Yi Tingting jumped up from the couch when she saw her and smiled, "Yiwei, you're here!"
