Taking the Offer

"Marry me."

Xu Anyi's eyes widened in surprise but she quickly controlled her emotions, "Why? What can marrying me bring you?"

Si Mu seemed to ponder the question for a few seconds before slowly replying, "My parents keep pushing girls to me as I recently turned 30."

He knit his eyebrows together, "It's quite annoying."

Xu Anyi blinked a few times, not completely convinced by his reasoning. However, as long as the reasoning was sufficient for him, that was good news for her.

But, the mention of his parents reminded Xu Anyi of his family status, and the Si family was definitely not something she could mess with, "Would your parents allow it?" She asked softly.

"That is not for you to worry. Do you want the offer or not?" He frowned, appearing slightly impatient, "Xu Anyi, I have no reason to help you."

He tilted his head to the side, "But as. . . Mrs. Si, my wife, all of mine is yours."

Xu Anyi's felt her heart flutter, which made her frown. What was up with all her heart movement?!

She clenched her teeth together. Even if she did not have any feelings for him, it did not matter anymore. After all these years, she had figured one thing out.

Romantic love was the most worthless thing in this world. After going through hell once and coming back, all she wanted now was to avenge her parents' death and take back everything that belonged to her. . . and nothing was going to stop her!

"I'll take it."

Si Mu's lips twitched slightly as he quickly pressed them together to hide his smile, "Good. first, get rid of this job, I don't want to see you here anymore. Second, I will send someone to pick you up here tomorrow morning at 7. As my wife, we will live together. Understand?"

Xu Anyi thought about it for a second, "I still need to work here. . . for money."

Even if they were going to get married, she still needed money, and she did not want to only rely on him completely.

He frowned and stared at her in silence, tapping his finger against the edge of his knee. Finally, he sighed, "Okay, but I will move you to serve in the first floor bar."

The first floor bar was open to more of the public, and usually, there were fewer upper class people that hung out there. She would definitely meet less familiar people there.

Xu Anyi grinned, "Thank you."

"Do you have any other objections?"

She shook her head. There was no going back now. With Si Mu, all of her steps would be easier. He was her greatest weapon now, so she had to get on his good side quickly.

Si Mu nodded and stood up from the chair, "You can leave now."

Then, he turned around and walked out of the room. As he reached the door, no one noticed the small gentle smile that quietly crept across his face, and then he disappeared.

The lights were closed already when Xu Anyi returned to her dorm.

She quietly stepped in as everyone was asleep already, and she also climbed up onto her bed, closing the curtains. Only after she was alone in the dark did she have time to think about everything that had happened in the past hour.

She would have never thought that she would get married again so quickly, since she had convinced herself that she would never get married again. But it was Si Mu! The richest, most powerful, most handsome, man in the entire country!

Xu Anyi tried to contain her excitement but also her fear as she thought about what would come next. But whatever it was, she was ready. She lost everything five years ago, and she had to take it all back!

She would make Xia Yiwei and Lu Yuzhe pay for everything they did, and return it all back to her tenfold!

The next morning, Xu Anyi woke up very early, as she was too excited to sleep anyway.

She was the only one up at six in the morning as she packed her bag. She came out of jail with nothing, so she had nothing much to take with her, except her worker's clothes.

Then, she left the room without saying goodbye to anyone.

To her surprise, Su Yan was sitting at the front desk already when she reached the front door, and Su Yan seemed quite surprised to see her there.

Xu Anyi placed the key to the dorm on top of the table, "Manager Su, I won't be living in the dorm anymore. Here is the key."

Su Yan looked at the key with a frown on her face, "Did you find a place to live?"

Xu Anyi nodded.

Su Yan raised one eyebrow in surprise, but she did not ask her more about it as she put the key back into the cabinet and sat down in her chair again, beginning to look at her phone.

Xu Anyi turned around to leave, but she suddenly heard her ask, "You're still coming to work, right?"

"Of course," she replied without looking back, and then she walked out of the building.

Outside, a black car was parked right outside the door and a man in a black suit stood in front of it. He was tall and buff, and opened the passenger door when he saw her.

"Do you work for Si- President Si?" She asked, eyeing him cautiously.

"Yes, Ms. Xu. President Si told me to come to pick you up, I am Si Er."

Xu Anyi nodded and climbed into the car, putting her bag down as Si Er shut the door and quickly entered the car as well.

Xu Anyi did not know why, but there was a hint of disappointment in her when she realized that Si Mu did not come, but she quickly realized the stupidity of her hopes. After all, not only was he a very busy man, but their marriage was also only an advantageous agreement between the two of them to help them both get what they needed.

They drove past the city, which was quite empty as it was the weekend and it was very early in the morning. None of them spoke as they continued to drive, almost reaching the border of the city.

There were fewer and fewer buildings and cars as they reached the city border and made a few turns, stopping in front of an enormous gate.

Xu Anyi looked at the words engraved in a large marble stone to the side of the gate, 'Jinli Palace'. This was the most expensive neighborhood in all of City A, and there were only ten houses inside the heavily guarded location.

The gate opened as the car stopped in front of it, and they continued down the road. Xu Anyi leaned her head against the edge of the car as she looked out the window, in awe at the enormous mansions, each one designed differently in its own unique style.

Even though the Xu Mansion used to be enormous as well, it could not compare to the houses inside Jinli Palace. She counted the houses and when she had counted nine, the car stopped again.

She turned around, looking ahead to see that they had stopped in front of another gate, this one slightly smaller than the one at the entrance.

There was a guard at the door and when he saw the black car, he immediately pressed a button and the gate slowly opened.

They seemed to enter another part of the neighborhood, as the car drove down a long and empty road with colorful flowers on both sides.

Finally, at the end of the road, there was a circular driveway with an extravagant stone fountain in the middle, the water shining under the daylight.

The car came to a stop and Si Er got out, opening the door for Xu Anyi.

"Mrs. Si, we have arrived."
