"Thank you for taking me home." Luca turned her head in the driver's seat, smiling subtly. "And I'm sorry if I have to bother you."
Xander shook his head, hand on the steering wheel. "You don't have to apologize for the things you shouldn't."
"Still —"
"I'd rather drive in the middle of the night than let you go through the hassle tomorrow." He cut her mid-sentence, flashing her a reassuring smile. Xander reached for her face, brushing her cheek mildly. "I won't lie, though. It saddens me that you have to go home."
"Well, I didn't know Jacques signed me up for an audition." Luca let out a sigh. "She wouldn't normally do this, but I guess she really wants us to work."
"She needs a distraction."
"Yeah…" Luca massaged her nape, looking a bit tired.
"Go." She snapped her weary eyes back to him when he spoke, only to see him jerk his chin toward the door. "You're tired, so you should rest."
