A couple of minutes ago, I was inside a two-story building with a red flag on top.
In one of the many hallways, two women aimed their weapons at each other. One wields a pair of knives, while the other has a bow. These women were, of course, Therese and Morgan.
Morgan drew her bow and shot down the hallway towards Therese.
Therese ducked out of the way, causing the arrow to whiz past her and wedge itself into the back wall at the end of the hallway.
Therese let out a deep breath before running towards Morgan with a low approach.
Morgan let out a barrage of arrows her way. Therese hastily grabbed a table from the side and threw it forwards, with the top part of the table covering most of her body.
The arrows impaled the table, and most of them went halfway through it.
Appearing above the airborne table, Therese leapt up in the air as the arrows hit the table.
She landed safely after clearing the table. She ran close to the wall, her arms crossed. Her knives sliced the air as she ran towards Morgan.
Morgan changed her stance and the form of her bow. Now it resembled more of a spear.
Therese drew her arm back, gripped her knife firmly, and sent a stab towards Morgan.
Morgan intercepted the blow with her spear, but Therese sent her other knife forward, right after the first was blocked.
Morgan calmly moved her spear in such a way that it blocked both of the knives.
Therese took a step back before reengaging swiftly after.
They exchanged a multitude of blows, causing sparks to fly whenever their weapons met each other, but none of them managed to land a blow on the other.
Therese sent a heavy strike to Morgan. Morgan, of course, blocked it, but she lost her footing and was swept to the side.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Therese made her way past Morgan and began running away.
By the time Morgan regained her footing, Therese had already turned a corner. Morgan gripped her weapon tightly before running after her.
Morgan turned the corner, and saw that Therese had managed to disappear. Morgan stopped moving and listened closely.
After a heartbeat, Morgan changed her weapon to a bow and riddled the walls with arrows.
During the onslaught of arrows, a portion of the wall collapsed due to being hit by an arrow. Morgan quickly ran through it without much of a second thought.
She found herself in a room with a bed. Like before, Morgan riddled the walls and the bed with arrows. One portion of the wall gave way, and Morgan went through the hole.
She found herself in a hallway with Therese running not far from her.
"Tsk!" Therese released an annoyed click as she noticed Morgan behind her.
Morgan sent another round of arrows towards Therese. Therese managed to find a corner and turn it before the arrows reached her.
As Therese rounded the corner, she saw something particularly interesting. A girl with amber eyes
Therese let out a sinister smile as she ran towards the girl named Amber.
She quickly went behind Amber, wrapped her arm around her neck and pointed the end of her knife at Amber's neck. She did all this before Amber could even react to seeing her.
Therese wrapped her other arm around Amber's body, hugging her close and blocking out the use of her arms and the stick she held.
Morgan went around the corner just in time to see this happening. She drew her bow and aimed it at Amber, but she did not fire her shot, only holding her pose.
"Uh-uh!" Therese grunted as she moved her entire body behind Amber's.
"You wouldn't shoot one of your'subjects' would you, princess?" Therese asked loudly.
Morgan wore her signature blank face in response, but her bow was still fully drawn and ready to fire at any second.
"Let me guess what you're going to say next." It's time I set an example of what happens when you get caught! " Therese said as she put on a deep voice.
I don't need weak people! Bam! Headshot! " She continued.
"What do you say, girly? What's my impression of her? " Therese asked Amber.
Amber replied, wearing a forced smile. "A dumbass, that's what you sound like."
Therese quickly took the knife from Amber's neck and stabbed it into Amber's thigh.
"Aaah!" Amber let out a scream as her body began falling to the floor.
Therese supported her body and made her stand up.
I think you're mistaken here, girly. I'm the one with the sass in this relationship. " Therese whispered in Amber's ear as she returned the knife to her neck.
Therese turned her attention to Morgan and said "You know the deal here. No moving or the knife goes through the neck, you got me? "
"I only want to talk. After all, I'm a big fan of what you do." Therese went on.
Amber appears to be slipping out of her grasp. She pulled close to Amber's ear and whispered. "Stand properly, or I'm stabbing the other one."
Amber trembled. A second later, she fixed her position. She held her stance through the pain as the blood began to crawl down her leg.
"How about you loosen that string? Your shoulder might not be able to handle the tension. " Therese said to Morgan.
Morgan gave her a blank stare without moving an inch.
"Very well, we'll talk like this." Therese continued.
"So... what are you up to, during this day and age?" Therese asked.
"Eating well? Sleeping in a comfy bed? killing mercilessly? You know the usual. " Therese went on.
"You know, I think I forgot to introduce myself. My apologies, my name is Therese. " Therese smiled.
"I'm from Riverton, and I belong to the Thirteen families. The family where the person titled Capitano belonged to, ring any bells? " Therese asked with a smile.
Morgan sent an arrow loose, and it went past Therese's right side.
Therese, unflinching, said. "I somehow knew how you felt about that question." Moving on from the introduction. "
Let me be blunt, I want you dead. I presume you know why and how it is justified. " Therese asked, with a serious expression on her face.
Therese then rambled on.
From my'sources', there should only be three of you left, and thanks to them. I know where the other two are.
"I know I can't reach your level. That's why I accepted a stool. "
I'm sure you already know this. I'm in cahoots with the people. You guys are on about it.
"Let's just say we reached a consensus, and it ends with you dead at our feet."
Amber's leg gave up, which caused her body to fall.
Morgan took the opportunity, and sent an arrow straight for Therese's head.
"Tsk!" Therese let out a loud click. She slammed herself to the ground without letting go of Amber in order to dodge the arrow.
A loud slam was made, as both Amber's and Therese's bodies slammed onto the floor.
Therese picked herself and Amber up from the floor. She went and hid behind Amber once again, as they stood.
She took the knife pointed at Amber's neck and stabbed it into Amber's other thigh.
"Aaah!!" As Therese twisted the knife in Amber's thigh, she screamed in agony.
"What did I say?! You want to meet your father early or what?! " Therese shouted at Amber.
Amber's ears perked up, before she asked with a shocked tone and wide eyes. "What do you... know about my father?"
"I know he's dead." "Therese bluntly said without any remorse in her voice."
Amber's hopeful eyes quickly turned to hateful ones after hearing this. Amber readjusted her grip on her stick. She held it midway and stabbed the end of it into Therese's side.
Therese didn't even flinch at her attempt. She pulled Amber closer and held her tighter, causing Amber to lose her grip on her weapon.
She moved her mouth closer to Amber's cat ears this time, and whispered in a calm tone. "Do you want to know how painful it is to have a severed tendon?"
Amber, who would have been terrified before, shook her body furiously in response to the threat.
"Hahaha!" Without letting go of Amber, Therese laughed.
"Do you see this, Morgan? She's just like you! Hahaha! " Therese laughed even more.
Morgan watched with a blank look, but the meter on her bow reached the second bar of red.
"I like you, girl. What is your name? " Therese asked.
Was it Amber Tenebris? The Beast, daughter of the recently deceased Titanian, Dr. Tenebris? " Therese asked with a malicious smile.
Amber bit her lip with rage as she continued to try and set herself free from Therese's grasp.
"Hahaha, so be it." While taking the knife off Amber's neck, Therese laughed.
She pulled it back and tried to stab Amber in the leg, but was stopped by a massive crashing sound like a building falling apart.
All three of them stopped, and looked out the window. They saw a massive wolf poking out of the top of a building, swinging its head upwards.
"Yeah, I'm not dealing with that." Therese said, as she returned the knife she held to Amber's neck.
She dragged Amber to the side, moving closer to a window.
Well, it has been a pleasure, your highness. But, our meeting ends here. Don't worry, I assure you... we'll meet again. " "Therese she said as she inched closer towards the window.
"The core you're looking for is inside a building on the other side of town." "That's why Golden Hands couldn't feel it," Therese explained.
Morgan, who still has her bow fully drawn, moved closer to her and asked in monotone. "Are you leaving your comrades behind?"
"Yes," I never liked them anyways. " Therese responded right away.
After hearing her reply, Morgan set free an arrow heading straight for Therese's arm while saying "Trash." in a calm tone.
"Shit!" Therese cursed as she used the knife pointed at Amber's neck to block the arrow.
Amber took the opportunity in front of her and moved. She stepped on Therese's foot while simultaneously elbowing Therese's side. Therese flinched upon impact, causing her to loosen her grip on Amber.
Amber, upon gaining the ability to move, let herself fall to the ground, using her arms to cushion the impact.
Without any cover, Therese looked at Morgan with nervous and scared eyes.
But, Amber wasn't the only one to take advantage of the situation, as Morgan sent a set of arrows heading for Therese at the very same moment.
Therese quickly lowered her body and moved to the side. After the arrows passed her, she quickly turned a corner and moved down a hallway.
Therese felt an intimidating aura go around the corner that began to chase after her with fright-inducing speed.
In her heart, Therese knew that if she made a mistake, she would be slaughtered. Therese hastily jumped out of a window.
While in mid-air, Therese turned around to see what was behind her. She saw the window and the wall surrounding it riddled with arrows.
A moment later, the wall and window crumbled. revealing Morgan, who had her bow fully drawn. The meter on her bow reached the second highest bar on the red.
She wore a calm and blank expression, but the aura surrounding her said the opposite. It felt like one was staring down a furious beast.
Therese gritted her teeth as she faced forwards, away from Morgan, but soon, she felt a pain in her leg.
The pain rapidly spread towards her back and her arms, like she was laying down on a bed of nails. Only this time, the nails were swapped out for spears.
Therese felt her strength leave her body. Her figure slammed straight into the ground without any attempt to soften the landing.
Therese lay on the ground with her face down and her back, which was impaled with arrows, looking up to the sky. Therese then felt four more arrows shot into her body. This caused her to lose grip on her knives. She had two in both her palms and two on her ankles.
The arrows went through her flesh and bones. only stopping after it met the ground on the other side.
Therese felt like she was being drawn and quartered, like the many times she did it to a wild beast.
Morgan jumped off the building and landed on the ground. She then quickly ran towards Therese's immobile body.
Once she reached her, Morgan changed her bow into a spear, and stabbed its sharp end into Therese's back.
Therese spit out a cough full of blood, but Morgan was not done yet. She held her spear firmly and sliced upwards into Therese's shoulder.
Morgan did all of this while wearing a calm and a somewhat uncaring expression on her face. She drew her spear from Therese's unmoving body, causing Therese's blood to spill.
Morgan took a deep breath and exhaled. The meter on her bow went back down to orange, and eventually yellow.
During her breathing exercise, a figure went past Morgan, wielding a rock in her arms.
It was Amber, and her eyes were filled with rage. She quickly climbed atop Therese's body and slammed the rock in her arms into her head.
"TAKE BACK WHAT YOU SAID, YOU CRAZY BITCH!!!" Amber screamed as she continued to pummel Therese's head with a rock.
"Tell me my father's alive!!! Tell me! " Amber continued to scream her heart out over Therese's corpse.
Morgan looked upon the scene with a calm expression. She slowly extended her hand towards Amber, but stopped it midway before pulling it back completely.
She continued to watch the scene in front of her with a blank stare, devoid of any emotion.
