Heath Wants To Confront Liam

In the Old Duke's room, a young man stood straight, facing the older man sitting at his writing desk. Heath glared at the Old Duke, staring back at him with the same seriousness. This would be the umpteenth time for them to confront each other in this manner.

"I will pay you with anything, but please spare my sister from this suffering, Your Grace," said Heath.

Suffering.

Heath knew how his older sister was. Since childhood, the woman was the light of the lantern that lit his path.

Harriet took his little hand gently through the winding road, shielding him from all pain and supporting him through every challenge. Harriet was his parent, his educator and his guide. Harriet was his idol and role model.

She was a woman who was far from perfect, and everyone saw her as the most ideal woman in the world. Yet Heath knew Harriet was both.
