Crossed Paths With a Familiar Man

THUMP THUMP THUMP

The animals around the woods started to cower in fear as they heard the sound of those heavy strides. It was not subtle as it began to sound closer and closer at that sunset.

THUMP! CRACK!

An enormous paw of a giant white wolf stomped on a rock and cracked it instantly.

[Ah, shit. That stone was a famous signpost the merchant and mercenaries used to navigate their road. I cracked it...]

"Huh? Really?" Harriet blinked. She knew this road quite well and had never heard of that kind of signpost.

"Wait, but nowadays, people use various tools to navigate anyways. The famous signpost I know is a bit far from here, and the road is much more developed there. So I think you shouldn't worry about that, Milord," she explained.

[What? Oh, so now everyone uses compasses? Right, they're much cheaper now than years ago. Now I see why everyone says I'm old.]
