Who's there?!

Gretta was Leon's real mate, it was a possibility that Leon could not yet believe. He was not sure about that yet, before knowing all the real things, Leon could not confirm it.

Gretta was also a werewolf like Leon, that too he could not confirm. Perhaps it could be justified because Gretta's current cell regeneration was the same as theirs. But, anything else that pointed to werewolves had never been seen.

It could be that she was half-werewolf, or actually an ordinary human who just had a connection with the people of Orlin in the past. No one could confirm that at the moment. Because that was also what still made Leon doubt Gretta's status as his dead, even though he could feel it.

Now they had to start carrying out their plan. Everyone's situation had improved so much, it was time to move on.

On the ground floor there was a basement in the house. Earlier, Luke had explained the position and condition of the house, so they rushed to look for the basement and managed to find it.

It wasn't very big, just a five by five meter room. The room was also very dusty, all the items inside were covered using a dark gray cloth.

Leon threw off the cloth, and the various weapons they could use were there. Even the royal spear type was there.

Shan took the spear, it was the weapon she liked and was good at the most. While Leon himself only took a dagger, as usual he very rarely relied on tools when fighting, no matter who it was with. Even though he mastered various weapons.

Gretta secretly noticed the bow located in the corner of the room.

"Can I take this one?" she asked when the bow was in her hands.

"Can you use it? If you can use it," Shan said.

"Not an expert, but I can and I'm pretty used to it."

Gretta fiddled with her bow. It was still in pretty good condition despite its age, and the size fit Gretta's body. She was quite comfortable using that bow.

Gretta was quite familiar with bows because her father had taught her. She also had a set of crossbows in the house where she lived, unfortunately it was broken and hadn't been replaced yet.

Holding a bow again after a long time made Gretta remember her father. Gretta smiled slightly because of that memory, although it was a little but it was enough to help her release her longing and repeat her childhood memories.

They planned to move at night. It would be more comfortable while moving than during the day, everyone could feel their presence. The Orlin Kingdom was in the center of Orlin city, precisely behind the city of Vollericham from the view of their current position.

"Don't you think it's a little strange? There's been no movement from Rhys for the past few days that's been disturbing. It feels too quiet."

Leon sighed. He also realized Shan's concern. It felt a bit strange that they hadn't had any attacks during their time in the house. It was too quiet considering how crazy Rhys was when he wanted something.

The time that passed was enough for them to move around doing whatever they wanted without the interference of Rhys and his army, but they had to remain vigilant. Unlucky dates are never recorded on the calendar, right.

Gretta was playing with her bow, training herself to get used to it again. The trunk of the tree in the forest was her target, she had to enjoy it anyway. A few times it was still off, she was a little annoyed but kept trying until the arrow actually hit accurately.

Seeing that the girl was struggling a bit, Leon tried to get closer to her. Gretta was still trying to release the arrow, and... the arrow actually hit the target before Leon helped her.

Again drawing the bow and releasing the arrow, this time repeatedly hitting the target. Gretta smiled with satisfaction, she was still quite good at archery. She turned her body around, seeing Leon already standing behind her.

"See? I can still do it."

"Yup, not bad." Leon gave his thumbs up looking at Gretta proudly. At least Gretta could survive on her own. Although Leon was always around her and helping her, but still Leon would not be able to rest easy worrying about the girl.

"I thought you would need my help, but your ability is more than expected."

Gretta turned to Leon. "You want to help me? Sure, help me," she said, smiling happily.

"I will stand in a pose holding this bow, then you teach me from behind. It seems like I really need someone to help me," Gretta continued.

"That's called modus, Gretta." Shan's julid face appeared from behind Leon.

Leon held out his hand for Gretta's bow. "I'm really offering it," he said.

Gretta was the one who started baiting Leon, but she was also the one who was embarrassed. "No need, I can do it myself," she said with a clumsy smile. Gretta's modus operandi was really just a mere modus operandi that she did not dare to realize.

Leon still grabbed the bow from Gretta's hand. He took a random arrow from behind Gretta. He aimed at the target that Gretta had previously targeted. His eyes glanced sharp and focused.

Leon's aim was perfect. It split Gretta's previous arrow. Dumbfounded, Gretta covered her mouth with her hand, "Wow!" she said.

"Still the same as before," Shan chided.

Leon turned and looked at Gretta, "Pretty reliable as a trainer, isn't me?"

Giving a thumbs up while nodding, Gretta smiled at Leon. Suddenly, the color of Leon's face changed from smiling to serious. He looked at Gretta with a sharp gaze and seemed to be looking deeply.

Suddenly Leon raised his bow, drew an arrow there and released it towards Gretta. The girl was startled and her body flinched.

"Ahk!"

Leon's arrow shot into the shrubbery behind Gretta. It hit someone who seemed to be silently observing them.

Shan immediately moved to Gretta and turned his back on the girl. Shan slowly walked to find out who was behind the bush. And Gretta was already standing next to Leon.

"Who's there?!"
