Chapter 90. It's not yet time

The early morning sunlight, soft and diffuse, gives way to the strong rays of the day, the ones that bring true warmth.

Serena squinted her eyes a bit while trying to observe the blinding white ball in the sky. She was the only poet in the family and also the only one who felt left out in terms of beauty.

She glanced back in front of her, her mother sat across from her still trembling in shock. She didn't take the news lightly that another of her daughters wanted to move somewhere far, far away. Her gaze fell to the marble table, little bits of real diamonds glimmered off its smooth surface.

"You want to join the immortal guild? Why sweetie?"

Crestfallen, Josie realized that there was nothing she could do to change Serena's mind at this point. Skipper had been gone for a while now and she still wasn't over it and now Serena wanted to go to defend the border that's even much farther away than Skipper's abode.
