Chapter 163. Life's a bitch

Despite the blazing sun, the cool land breeze hollered through the masquerade trees with long dropping branches.

It was cool under the shade. Melody sat under the tree that was so big now. She enjoyed the sound of the rustling leaves as they rubbed against each other, she felt like it was her daughter's way of communicating with her.

She wished she could hold her right now. Maybe things wouldn't feel so painful if she did. She would give her all the motherly love in the world. The love she never got. The love she wanted so much.

"Life's a bitch..."

Melody cursed softly with half-lidded eyes staring straight up at the intricate network of leaves and branches.

It felt like it was just yesterday that she visited the biodegradable urn with her baby girl's remains.

"Time flies... your father wanted your name to be Chelsea... I can't remember why I refuted his request."
