Omegas and alphas have pheromones with different chemical natures, making them easy to differentiate. So, an omega marked by an alpha can easily be recognized.

But what about omegas? Can they mark each other?

Omegas don't have sharp teeth like alphas and can't expel pheromones to the extent that a permanent mark would form, but is a temporary mark possible? In theory, yes.

The glands are both producers and stores of pheromones.

When marked, the glands will have all their storage space filled with external pheromone. When fully filled, a temporary mark appears.

The omega then begins to expel both its own pheromone and the one placed by another individual until all the external pheromone is gone, at which point a new brand is needed.

A permanent mark occurs when, even after being completely filled, the gland continues to receive pheromone, forcing the excess pheromone to be metabolized and integrated with the omega's natural pheromone production.

An alpha's glands are entirely dedicated to pheromone production, allowing even a low-level alpha to mark a high-level omega.

Omegas, however, have mixed glands, with more reservoir cells than producers.

A high-level omega, due to their more intense pheromones, can still expel their own pheromone and create a temporary mark, with their pheromone sticking longer to the reservoirs.

But all of this is just theory; there are no widespread records of markings between omegas. Relationships between equals are still considered abnormal, and much of their physiological behavior toward another omega is completely unknown.

It is also understood that omegas can naturally reject another omega's pheromones due to the chemical nature of the pheromones, as well as compatibility based on class and level. Omegas face many difficulties with their pheromones.

When a person is marked, they tend to become more susceptible and comfortable with their partner's presence, while the effects of estrus are diminished.

However, a sense of dependence and need arises in both the omega and alpha, leading to a strong bond and emotional dependence on the partner and their pheromones.

Because of this dependence, the country of Wang does not allow its omega kings and queens to be permanently marked. It is inconceivable to think that a king or queen could become vulnerable to their partner's will and be carried away by pheromones.

When an omega is permanently marked, they automatically drop out of the line of succession and receive only a peerage, losing their status as part of the official line of heirs.

Wang Zheng was a normal-level omega, but because her glands had already matured, she had developed a strong ability to handle pheromones over time. She wouldn't easily be overwhelmed, and it would take a significant incompatibility for that to happen.
