Green: A Piece of Cake

We stand in silence that felt like forever as Lance looked at my mom. We just arrived at no man's land to meet with my mother to talk to her about my father when mom approached to greet us. You would know it was doomed from the start when the moment they meet eyes or at least when they sensed each other the air quickly became heavy.

Lance stared at my mother for so long I could feel my own uneasiness as well as Canis' who came with my mother. He looked up and down and back as if sizing her. His eyes looked at her with furrowed brows but my mom remained calm. Though not smiling, she was not frowning either. I took a gulp of nothing as I looked at her as well.

I was about to speak just to break the odd silence when I heard Lance clicked his tongue and huffed. He smirked funny at my mom that made me glare at him.

"He knew how to..." Lance' face was turned sideways when a loud slap hits his cheeks. We all stood there frozen as my mother retracted her hand back in her grasp. She had that stern look on her face as she looked up at Lance who turned his head back to glare down at my mother. I immediately placed myself between them, fearing that Lance would snap at my mother.

"Aries, move aside." I heard my mother speak. I look at her as I was about to argue but when I saw how serious she is made me move out of her field of vision. "Lance." She acknowledged the Alpha before her.

Lance growled at her while moving closer, shortening the gap between them.

"Bitch." I heard him snarl but my mother was quick to raise her hand to stop me from attacking. He eyed me then back at my mother. "You know why I'm here."

"I'm well aware on why you're here." My mother spat coldly. She remained poised and stood straight despite the murderous Alpha standing before her slim figure. "But that doesn't change the fact that you're 18 years too late to look for him."

"He's my mate, wench. I don't need you telling me what I don't want to hear." He snarls and I took all ounce of my strength not to shove his face to the ground. Why did Blake have to do his own investigation on a time like this?

"You threw that privilege away when you decided to push him away." Mom speaks calmly but clearly enough to emphasize she was mad. "Stephen was heartbroken, Lance. As a mate you should have been by his side though thick or thin."

"Watch your mouth! You don't fucking know me!" The towering Alpha growled as he pressed his finger over my mother's shoulder. I gave out a warning growl but it fell into his deaf ears. "So, are you going to tell me what I want or are you just going to fucking waste my time?!"

"It depends..." My mother replies before turning around and walking towards the tent. She stopped at the entrance and peaked through her shoulders with a frown. "... Are you going to behave or not." With that she continued to walk in with Canis behind her.

Lance let's out a deep growl as I watch him clench his fists. He was about to storm in when I step in front of him and glared. He looked at me for a moment and scoffs as he pushed me aside like I was nothing. I gave a sigh of relief. I wasn't expecting for Lance to have this much of a self control but he was trying his best to control himself.

I looked back at the lush open field taking in a deep breath before entering the huge tent. Oddly enough, I'd expected at least someone to accompany Lance here. Neither his Beta or warriors came along with him. I'm quite sure he felt that there's no need. It's either he has too much confidence on himself or he was sure we were no threat to him. Eitherway, as long as he behaves, I won't do anything harsh.

I looked at the two people sitting in the middle of the enclosed area as one stares down the other with equal intensity. Lance scowls at my mother as she took a deep breath before opening her eyes to look at the man infront of her.

"What do you want to know?" She asked calmly. Lance grunted as he eyed my mother.

"You know exactly what I want to know." He growls. "My mate's whereabouts. Where is Stephen?" He slams his fist on the table in front of him that made Canis jump on her feet. I on the other hand shook my head. "And don't fucking lie to me, bitch! Or help me, I'll fucking love to rip that throat off you." He threatens.

"Do you really want to know?" She replies calmly. "You might not like it." I saw her clasp her hands under the table and that made me feel concerned. She gave me a slight glimpse before turning to look at the unamused Alpha before her. "I always believed that it was all the best to let it all be forgotten."

"Don't play with me. I don't need you to lecture me, wench!" Lance spat as gritted his teeth. "I'm losing precious time here talking with you as you spill nonsense! Fucking talk!" He demanded.

My mother looked down and took a deep breath once more before raising her head.

"Stephen's alive." She states and I stood frozen at the words that entered my ears. I was utterly surprised that I can't seem to move. "Or at least the last time I saw him." She continued.

"Where is he?!" Lance growled.

"I don't know." Mom replied.

"What the fuck do you mean you don't know?!" Lance stood up. My mother tensed and looked down at the table.

"Stephen... Stephen..." She stuttered. ".... He said he was losing his sanity."

Lance stood there and the blood from his face suddenly lost color. He looked pale.

"You're fuck-fucking lying..."

"I didn't want believe him as well..." My mother replied as she looked up at him. "But, he was telling the truth. I saw it in his eyes Lance. He was losing it, I guess he was so deep in love with you that he can't help but feel ... lost." My mother paused for a moment to let Lance take a minute to take it in. I don't know if she knew but I was also shaken. Could this happen to between us? I was deep in thought that I didn't noticed my mother started to speak again. "Remember the day you found him in the woods wounded?"

"How could I not." Lance croaked.

"I don't know if I should tell you this but..." She trails off. "Stephen went to talk to your father that same day."

"He fucking what?!" Lance slammed his hands on the table. Face pale and eyes shook in fear. "Fuck."

"He wanted to let your father know that you were his mate. He'd hope that your father would understand." Mom started to sob. "He told me that he can't live a lie. That you were everything to him. That if he was going to fall into insanity at least he could be with you for a few moments before it." She wiped her tears as she looked back at Lance who was sitting now, hands on each armrest of the chair.

"That fool." Lance croaked. "The fucking fool!"

"He was quite foolish." Mom agreed. "It wasn't my place to interfere but I'd voiced my objection or at least warned his parents but..." She looked at me. "I'm sorry... But I was sworn to never tell. Stephen was quite confident that it will end up alright." She turns to look at Lance once more. I was feeling weak in the knees for a moment. All I wanted was to roll on the floor and cry. I grasp the nearest stool and started to support myself from falling. Stabling my footing and trying to compose myself.

"Why break that vow now?" Lance spoke, looking more calm but still shaken. "An Alpha's ordered you to keep it secret. Are you going to defy Stephen's wishes?"

"I think I've caused enough pain for most people by keeping this secret." Mom states. "Alpha and Luna, the pack, Aries... You." Lance straighten his back with a frown. "Stephen was a man any woman would be happy with. He was kind, strong. An Alpha the very least but..." She smiles as she seems to reminisce something before continuing. "But his heart already belongs to someone. And even though I wanted to be the mate he wanted, I can't. He still loved you."

"Does it even matter." Lance states.

"I know you still do. After all this years, you still love him." Mom states. "And you should know Stephen loved you..."

"If he loved me, he should have stopped hiding!" Lance growls as he covers his eyes with his right hand. "I should have known he was going to do something crazy. Fucking moron!"

"Lance..." Mom calls out to him as he pushed back his chair to stand up.

"Fucking idiot! I should have stopped him..." Lance scowled as he looked down as he clenched his fists. "And now... I should have killed that fucking bastard of a father!" He cursed.

"Lance." Mom called once again as Lance glared at her.

"What?!" He growls.

"Don't say anything that you would regret anytime soon..." Mom spoke calmly while the towering Alpha looked at her with disdain. "... Stephen wouldn't like for you to do anything foolish... Even when your father is no longer with us."

"That doesn't change the fact that he killed my mate..." Lance scowled as ran his hand over his black hair. "Fuck! I should have known why I caught the scent of my old man... Fuck! Fucking fuck!" He cussed as he started to pace around the room. I immediately walked towards him and took a grip on his shoulders as I hold him in place. He tenses instantly as I kept him from moving.

"Calm down Lance. This is not the time to lose control. I don't want to go through that like the last time." I state. I let him go as I felt his even breathing. I didn't noticed that his eyes were shifting abruptly before fully calming down. "That's it. Better."

"That was fucked up!" Lance groaned disappointedly. "Maybe I should track him down... I have trackers that would ..." He started to speak out his mind as I look at him in amusement and concern.

"Lance just calm down." I state once again. "Let's just sit down and talk things out. It's clear that you felt strongly about my father but it won't help any of us if we lost our focus." I guide him towards his seat as he slowly sat down. I looked at the distraught Alpha and gave a sigh.

"Fuck!" Lance buried his face into his hands as he let out a defeated sigh. "How fuck up is this?! My mate being killed by my own father. He must have been told lies by that fucking bastard... Fuck! I don't know what to say if I saw him now. He must think I wanted him dead... Maybe that's the reason he didn't want to show up..." Lance trails off as I look at my mother who was giving Canis the glass of water she was drinking before as she thank her afterwards.

"Whatever the reason maybe, I know you'll two will work it out." Mom states. "Afterall, you're mates. And it will work just fine in the end."

"Funny. I don't seem to share your enthusiasm." Lance grimaced as he glares at my mother. "Well, this was a fucking waste of time. I didn't even know if Stephen's alive."

"At least you confirmed that he's not here." I state as I fished out my phone to see why it vibrated. "The very least you knew the other side of the story..." I read a message that Blake sent me that said to call him once I get it. So I immediately dialed his number and excused me from the people in the room. He picked up the phone as soon as I exited the tent.

"Fucking took you long enough to call me." Blake groans but I'm sure he was smiling at the other end of the line. "I missed you already, Aye." He states afterwards making me smile.

"Missed you too." I chuckled as I walked further from the tent. "How's the investigation from your end."

"Going smoothly." He replies before hearing something break and fall from the other end. "Had a few bumps but all's better. Haven't seen the person I wanted to see though."

"Who?" I asked.

"It's a secret." He grins. "I'll tell once I confirmed my speculations just trust me on this."

"I do. But you cant blame me from worrying. Things might happen and I'm not there to protect you." I state as I grip the side of my shirt firmly.

"Don't be a wuss! Alpha blood runs through my veins. It would take a lot to take me down." He states confidently as I turned to look at the tent. "So how's my old man?"

"Lance behaving." I reply. He didn't reply for awhile as rustling was heard from the phone. "What are you doing, Blake?"

"I'm looking for stuff..." He groans as more rustling was heard. "And you? How about you?"

"I'm fine." I bit my lower lip.

"Don't lie." He growls. "I know you're not. So don't pretend."

"How can you tell?" I asked quite curious about his statement.

"I don't know." He shrugs. "I just kinda do. Just hold for a minute..." He states and the line went quiet for awhile as I waited in anticipation. "There. Where were we?"

"Still on earth, I assume." I smirked.

"Fuck you! You know what I mean." He chuckles.

"It's just weird that you can tell how I feel that's all." I state. It seems odd for us to have a strong connection with each other after not being mate's anymore.

"What's weird about that?" He asked. "We're mates after all."

"Technically, we're not mate's anymore." I state. "We rejected each other not long ago. So, the term doesn't apply to us anymore."

"Fuck with your technicalities. We're mates! And that's it." He growls. "Nothing's going to change that. Fuck! So, how are you feeling?"

"Shocked at the very least." I sighed.

"Why's that?"

"The very possibility that my father's alive and somehow gone rogue." I state. "Did you know that your father's father tried to kill my dad."

"Fuck! That's messed up!" Blake cussed as he went quiet for a moment. "How's he doing? The old man, I mean."

"He's holding fine. Quite surprised he remained calm all this time." I explain. "Had some freak out moments here and there but I managed to calm him down. So, you don't have to worry."

"I'm not worried about him." Blake groans.

"I know you care about your father. It's just you two don't like sharing your opinions about each other openly." I state. "I guess it's a Fang thing, I suppose."

"Fuck you, Aye!" Blake cussed as I look at the tent and frowned as it was oddly silent. So I started to walk towards the structure. "I said I wasn't even, fuck! Don't fucking tell him that!"

"I can't promise you that." I teased as I heard him groan at the other end of the line. I open the drape to the tent and saw Lance standing at the other end of the room with something on his hands. "You're cute when you're all flustered you know." I smirk.

"Fucking hell!" Blake snapped. "I don't do cute. Wait till I get back, Storm." He growls but I can't help but shake my head whilst smiling.

"Can't wait." I chuckled as he groans. "Just take care. Call me when something comes up..."

"I can take care of myself." He spat.

"I know you can but please just call... I don't want to worry about your safety when I have those unwanted feelings come up." I explain and I can tell that he was rolling his eyes at me.

"Sure thing, mom." He smirked.

"Asshole." I grin.

"Oh shit! He cussed! Call the cops because we got someone on the loose!" Blake chuckles as I rolled my eyes at his childish behavior. "Shit, Aye."

"Blake."

"Alright. Alright." I heard him concede. "I'll call when something happens. So don't worry." Blake reassures me as I gave a sigh of relief. "But Aye you hurt me..." He mused making me raise a brow.

"Why is that?" I asked curiously.

"You don't think I could do this all alone." He tried to sound like some dejected child that I can't seem to take any seriousness. "It hurts."

"Don't be too dramatic, Blake." I chuckled. "Just thank your lucky stars that I decided to go with your silly plan."

"I'm not dramatic and this plan's nothing silly about it!" Blake injected making me laugh internally with his sudden outburst. "You'll thank me later if I prove my hunch is true."

"And what is that? You didn't even told me what it is when you left." I groan.

"You'll know." He just plainly state. "And Aye..."

"Yes?"

"I'm fucking horny right now." He states which made my cheeks flare up. He practically took a plain conversation and change the topic instantly. "And after what you did last time, I don't think my hands can quench the thirst I'm having right now."

"This is not the good time, Blake." I croaked. My lips started to go dry and my heart started to pound.

"And why is that?" He asked mischievously.

"You know why..." I groaned.

"Please refresh my memory..." He chuckles. I could practically see the evil smirk plastered on his face.

"Ugh! Your father and my mother's here...." I state in a low whisper. "I don't want them to know that I'm... You know..."

"Know what?" He asked.

"Do I have to spell it out to you?!" I half-heartedly whispered-yell at the phone. Feeling the slight discomfort on my lower regions. "If it is then it's not funny."

"Alright. Alright." Blake conceded. "I just don't get why does it bother you. We're wolves. Feeling aroused because of your mate is normal. You among all the people I know would understand this."

"I know that." I groan. "It's just I don't feel comfortable being you know in public, even when within the pack..." I state as I looked around to search for mom or Canis. "If you could just keep the sexy talk in private, I would gladly appreciate that from you Blake."

"Fucking fine!" I heard him scoff. "Better be ready when I get back." Blake husked making my cheeks heat up.

"Just finish what you're doing and we'll talk." I grin making him gasp.

"Oh, we'll do more than just talk when I get back." He husked. I found both persons I was looking for preparing something for us to drink but my eyes were shifting fast that it made me dizzy. I pushed myself back and let go of the drape as I took a deep breath trying to calm down my raging boner.

"You're not letting this go easy on me, aren't you?" I groan as I heard him hum.

"Maybe..." He replies. "Full moon's around the corner and this doesn't help the fact that all we did was that one time blowjobs..." Blake groans. "So, you can't blame me either. This cock got to be inside a fucking hole. So it's either your sweet mouth or your tight ass."

"Well you should have more self control than that." I state. "And don't go pushing more buttons, Blake. 'Cause I'm going through my limit so fast... I've never lose control of my wolf in my life."

"Oh." He mused. "Well I guess there's a first time for everything. At least the sex will be mind blowingly wild when we fuck."

"Blake." I groaned. "Stop it or I'll go to where the hell you are and rip those damn pants off your ass and so Goddess help you I'll pound your ass so hard you'll feel my cock out off your throat." I growled as I felt like catching my breath after spilling it. I planted my hand over my forehead and tried to even my breathing. My vision started to regain their normal unhazy view. "Sorry... I don't know what came over me."

"Fuck. I don't know what to say to that..." Blake's voice felt like trembling. "I felt disgusted and weirdly aroused at the same time that I'm feeling hazy."

"That makes the two of us." I state. "So no sex talk for awhile... Eventhough I would love to do you now." I husked.

"Ditto. Fuck we really need to get laid soon. I don't know how long I can control myself everytime a full moon comes up." Blake states as we gave a content sigh at the same time.

"We'll talk about when you come back." I bit my lower lip. "Blake just be careful... And call me whenever there's trouble..."

"I know. I know. Don't need to be reminded everytine you know." He groans. "Alright. I'm going to end the call. Need total radio silence from here on out."

"You sound like a dork." I smiled as I heard him grunt. "Fine. Be safe."

"You're the dork." Blake groans. "I said I'm sending the call."

"So what's keeping you." I mused.

"You're still on the line." He states as I roll my eyes.

"Alright."

"Wait." Blake spat.

"What?" I asked.

"Alabu." He mumbled something and the line immediately went dead.

I pull out the phone away from my ear to look at the wallpaper of my phone. He did end the call but somehow I kind of knew what he said on that last call ...

I turned around towards the tent and when I entered Canis was throwing me knowing smirk. I shrugged at her and proceed towarda my mom who looked up to me with a worried look.

"Are you alright, Aries?" She asked.

"I'm fine, mom." I state giving her a hug. "Just had to calm myself for a moment. There's a lot to take in."

"I hoped Blake helped." She smiles at me as I could feel my cheeks heat up.

"Oh, I'm quite sure Blake helped more than keeping Aries calm down." Canis smirked as she handed me a cup of tea. "What?! We could practically smell your arousal from here!"

"Canis." Mom scolded her but she just snickered as she hops towards the table to grab another cup. "Well, you know Canis' just playing with you..."

"I know." I state trying to calm myself down. "How's Lance?" I tried to divert the conversation and luckily mom nodded before looking at the Alpha standing at the corner with a box in his hand.

"He's holding just fine." Mom states. "He's a strong man. I'm sure he has a lot of demons running through his mind right now. An internal struggle that he needs to confront by himself." She states as she took a sip of tea. " I really wished he meets up with Stephen soon. For the sake of their relationship and for Lance' state of mind."

"Mom, if you don't mind me asking..." I started. "...Did dad...ever had a grudge against me?" Mom eyes sadden but she smiled.

"No he didn't. As much as Lance loved Blake, Stephen adored when he knew you were conceived." Mom states. "So don't ever doubt your father's love for you. He loved you like he loved the pack... As he loved Lance."

I nod at her and look at the Alpha once again. Lance pulled out a piece of jewelry out and he started to tear up. I never wanted things to go through like that to Blake and I. It's never easy but I hoped things would go well, for us and our fathers.

I took a sip from my cup and savored the bland sweetness of the bronze liquid. I hoped that my dad shows up soon.
