Starting Over

"Are you sure you don't have to go back?" Emma was worried that his grandma would get mad if she learnt he had left his date behind.

"No." Daniel shook his head. "She can go home by herself."

"I can go home by myself too," she muttered.

He chuckled and tightened his grip around her hand. "I am worried that you will get lost."

"How am I supposed to find you if you go missing?" He added.

When she glared at him, he gave a cheeky smile as they continued walking down the road.

….

After walking for a few more minutes, they found a fast food truck.

Daniel brought a chicken burger and some fries for Emma and a diet coke for himself.

"Here is your food madam," he placed the tray in front of her.

"You aren't eating?" Before he could answer, she added, "Oh right, you just got back from a very fancy date."

Daniel sighed and helplessly shook his head. "You aren't gonna let it go, aren't you?"
