Getting Lost in the City

Darius held onto his head in pain as he knocked his face to the floor. If it was Megan or Adrian, he would have thrown something at them. However, this was Dylan asking to go out on his own. This never happened, so Darius just picked up the blanket and poorly covered himself with it. He kneeled down a little to get Dylan to not strain his neck looking up.

With a feigned smile that hid the pain, Darius chuckled. "Uhm, let me see. Where do you want to go, Dylan? Do you need me to come with you, instead?"

"No, I want to go on my own. I want to try." Dylan's eyes flickered as if he didn't know what he just ruined. "But Daddy, I have no idea where I should go. Do you want me to fetch you anything?"

"Erm… okay, I can send you to the grocery if you like. I'll get a list for you. You should get ready." Darius reached out and ruffled his middle child's hair. "Wait for me by the front door later."
