Warnings and Troubles

Magistrate Axton smiled politely when he heard Yakov's words. He tipped his chin to the chairs opposite him and said to Yakov, "You might as well take a seat, your highness. I don't think you wish to discuss this matter while standing up, right?"

"No," said Yakov as he sat down at the long table along with Ahmar. "Now that we are seated, I would like to question what you are going to do about Eve and the rest of her brothers. Though I admit that our family and theirs did have an agreement, that agreement fell through when I found my mate, and the one to fulfil that agreement on my behalf was my half brother. Now that he is missing, I don't think it's my responsibility to fulfil the agreement, as I already have a mate. So would you mind explaining what's with the letter that they have sent to my wife, the empress?"

Although Yakov spoke in a casual tone and his posture was relaxed, Magistrate Axton knew that the man was anything but relaxed.
