Chapter 4: Learning

"It seems like I'm quite late!"

Alucard looked around him and saw all the rubble on the ground and the guards motionless on the floor. He scratched the back of his head and smiled at his wife and the Maid.

"I hope they didn't hurt you..."

He murmured in a soft voice as he embraced Finnea and his baby.

This enraged the Manticore even more for, he felt like he was being snubbed.

"How dare you!!" He roared as he leaped towards the family.

As he was going to reach for them, Alucard simply made eye contact with the Manticore and it suddenly froze.

Chills went up all around its body and the Manticore took two steps backward.

Still making eye contact, the Manticore's breathing started to get heavy, and his heartbeat started racing.

Without wasting a minute, the Manticore turned around and flew in the opposite direction far away from Alucard.

"Let's see how much little Langris has grown!"

Alucard made silly faces to amuse Langris while Finnea was holding him.

"What the fuck is this idiot doing?"

Langris stared back at Alucard trying to figure out what he was trying to achieve by making those silly faces.

"You won't believe it, but your son is a very talented little child Alucard..." Finnea said looking at Langris with a slight smile.

"He got everything from his father!!" Alucard replied with pride.

Finnea smiled when she looked at Alucard bragging about himself and immediately broke his joy.

"You are quite strong I agree, but your IQ is still to be checked..." She replied while rocking Langris.

"Do you mean I'm stupid?" Alucard asked her.

She avoided eye contact and slowly said, "I never said you were stupid, I just said that sometimes your brain works backward,"

Nalia giggled which humiliated Alucard even more.

"Give me a second, I have to fix all this first..."

Alucard walked around to see all the damage caused by the Manticore and joined both his hands together. As he did it, he cast a spell,

"Shifu Temple technique, tempus itinerantur,"

Once he said those words, two green circles, with symbols inscribed on their circumference appeared around his head, and waist.

At that very moment, he parted his hands away and lifted only the middle finger, and index finger of his right hand. The circles immediately expanded, and spread around the estate creating a green transparent cocoon.

He slowly started making a circle pattern with the given fingers, and at that very moment, everything, including the guards started rewinding. All the rubbles reconnected to the buildings, and the guards jizzing on the ground suddenly started floating back to the top of the Northern Walls.

However, the only things that were not affected were Finnea, Langris, Nalia, and the Manticore's corpse.

"This dude... This dude, my father can rewind time, he's got this much power? If, If I could be just like him,"

When everything had gone back to order again, Alucard stopped the pattern he was doing with his arm, and the time rewind stopped, however, time itself had stopped as well.

"It was nice seeing my son and my wife again, but I must get going..."

Alucard was a mysterious person, and not much was known about his lifestyle. The only people aware of his unparalleled power were the higher ups of what is called the hallow association, the important figures of the Wranven family and Nalia.

Despite that, the only one who knows about how Alucard leads his life is Finnea, and it seemed that it didn't please her very much.

Finnea tried to keep a composed face and not show her sorrow, but Alucard could read right through her like an open book.

"I'm sorry my love," He slowly placed his hand on her cheek, "I'll make it up to you one day, just wait for me... and as for you big guy, you seem like a tough one, so go along with your life, and don't let that dreaded family of yours take over,"

With those words, Alucard snapped his fingers, and he suddenly vanished with the corpse of the Manticore.

The cocoon slowly dissipated, and time had resumed, so as the guards posted on the defense walls.

Just like their body, their mind had rewinded as well, thus, they do not remember anything of their death.

"It seems like it was a false alert, everyone pack up!"

Months had gone by and at 7 months, Langris already knew how to walk. At 9 months, Langris could talk and read. All these aptitudes proved that he was a prodigy intellectually.

This gave him quite the high esteem in the family, and he had met his grandfather, his cousins, aunts, and most importantly, his Uncle Dreyfus.

"I'm sure that one day he will have the intellectual capacity to join the Royal Senate!"

Many of his uncles would say every time they would speak about Langris.

However, the life Langris wanted to lead was that of his father, a hallow Practitioner.

At only the age of 2 years old, Langris had started reading scrolls about the world he was living in at the Library, and he could read very well.

One day, Langris was in the library, when he met his grandfather who caught him reading a scroll about the family's history.

"Langris, what a surprise to see you in the library,"

The old man with long grey hair and a short white beard sat next to Langris. The latter seemed to like the Old man very much and showed great respect to him.

"Greetings Grandfather Elmon, I like to spend my days in the library, it helps me learn more about my culture and the world.

Elmon patted Langris on the head.

"Well, I am proud of having such a gifted boy in my family lineage, I hope you continue your prowess, and rise up to expectations just like your father did..."

Langris looked up at his Grandfather and replied,

"Yes, I will Grandfather..."

Langris smiles at Elmon before focusing on his book once again. During that time, Elmon couldn't help but feel blessed to have such a prodigy in his family.

"I must get going Langris, but I hope you continue on this path and become a great scholar that will bring more fame and pride to this family,"

Elmon told Langris before leaving him alone.

Langris tightened his fist and pressed his teeth.

'Why don't these idiots want to understand, I don't want to become some stupid scholar!"
