The Pull (1)

When Isadora uttered those words everywhere became still. She had no idea someone else was already in the room, helping her escape death.

Her eyes stared at the two heavy hands that were now around her neck. The first one was that of the heartless man, the other one was that of Elvis.

Elvis' hand wrapped against his lordship's wrist. The both of them were sharing a secretive glare but when the heartless man refused to retreat, Elvis's eyes rolled to Isadora before his eyes landed back on him. "Milord, it is inadvisable to skip the process," Elvis said, a little orange ring forming in each of his eyes as he tried to ignore Isadora's weak stature. He had somehow felt the chains around her body when his lordship tied her the first time.

Elvis had also felt every single burn Isadora felt. He had no idea why this was happening to him now. Why was he now feeling every single pain she was feeling? Yes, she was his beloved but that did not mean that he was going to accept that. This woman his Lord hated the most could not be someone who was destined to carry his offspring.

It was a betrayal and he would not heed whatever it was that fate had planned.

It was right that he admired her, but that was only because he could feel that she was unique. She was something special and something beyond one's imagination, he never felt the admiration one felt towards the opposite felt. Maybe that was a lie, now that he had discovered her as his beloved, he began to see her in a way he had never seen someone before. His emotions were beginning to mix up.

He would not even accept the fact that he now had an Achilles heel.

His lordship looked at Elvis, awestruck, his chest booming in and out as if he had entrapped an ocean of deep anger that was threatening to expand. Without taking a glance at Isadora again, he released her neck and instantly faced back.

Isadora watched as the man walked out of the dungeon very fast, the coldness in her body decreasing as he disappeared away from the dungeon. She slowly raised her hand and wrapped her neck with it. Shock threatened to burst from her eyelids.

"That's unbelievable," she muttered, not taking a look at Elvis who was now standing in front of her with revulsion boldly printed on his face.

Isadora breathed hard, she looked around and was shocked to see that the skeletons that were previously hanged were now scattered on the ground. The cage that she was tied to was nowhere to be found. The firewood into which that heartless man had dipped a metal rod to torture her had also disappeared.

The most shocking fact was that the chain around her body had disappeared also. She remembered breaking off the chains. She shook her head in an attempt to make her notions less vague but it did nothing to help her clear her mind. Her palms were red and soft. She could not believe that these palms of hers were what had broken the chains.

A sudden wave overshadowed her as she struggled to get a hold of herself but her eyes moved upwards slowly as she felt a hand that steadied her. "Elvis?"

She knew that Elvis was right with her before but that knowledge had not sunk in as she was disturbed by whatever just transpired in the dungeon.

What had she talked about the forbidden Oracle?

What was even the forbidden Oracle?

Elvis felt the need to pull her closer. He could not tell if he could bear to continue to experience the pain that she was feeling deep down. Her physical pain was worse.

He had wondered how she was able to survive the hold against her neck. He could not imagine what type of hatred his lordship had for her that he felt the need to crush her throat before even confirming should the girl be Delilah. But it was better should they believed she was Delilah.

Seeing that she was alone with Elvis and it was darker than before, she held tight to herself. The only words that were lingering in her mind were how naked she had been. How naked she was. And that, she was naked to someone aside from Oswald and the heartless man. And now, this Elvis of a thing. No!

She buried her face in her hands, a sudden weakness swallowing up her whole system. "I...thank you for saving me."

Elvis nodded in surprise. He could not believe that this woman who had broken the chains was looking like someone who could barely walk or...he could not even explain the weakness she just showed and he knew the exact reason.

The reason was that she was naked.

That same reason made him feel something he had never felt before.

He shook his head, he could not be thinking like that.

He did not believe that the pull toward one's beloved could make one behave so stupid.

He did not want to think about anything related to that. He had many things he wanted to do, he did not want to do anything related to the pull between this woman and him.
