The Transport Tower

CASTYR'S POV

Kilo grows tenser as we enter the tower. We take the elevator to the second-highest floor of the building. This tower is one of the tallest on Earth as it is Heaven's embassy building and connection with Earth.

Anyone can visit and tour the building, but only special guests and their escorts can access the transport on the top level. The rest of the tower serves as a museum of Heaven's history with Earth. I only know this from my endless hours of reading and researching the universe when I was staying in my residence.

We enter the second-highest floor and begin searching for access to the transport. Miren walks up to the help center as Kilo keeps observing our surroundings.

Two tall men wearing the uniforms of officers from Heaven's defense system catch my attention as they escort a human man across the floor.

"Kilo," I grab my angel's attention.

"Hmm?"

"Aren't they angels?" I point to the two men.

Kilo follows my hand and spots the officers. "Come on." He takes my hand.

I follow Kilo as he begins approaching the angels. As we close the distance to about a hundred feet, Kilo suddenly stops and hides me behind him.

"What is it?" I poke my head out from behind Kilo. Five men stand between us and the angels with deadly grins. I look around to see men and women approaching from all directions.

Sirens start blaring, and red lights flood the room. Travelers and tourists begin screaming and scramble to exit the tower. The demons hesitate as visitors gush past them giving Miren time to rush to us and grab our arms. We push pass the security in the middle of the chaos and make our way to the top story.

The floor is fairly empty as people try to exit the tower. Only the longer sides of the story are walled. The two shorter sides detailing the width of the building are open to the sky. A floating compartment waits in the center of the floor.

The floor's security moves to stop us as we near the transport.

"I am a lieutenant from Heaven!" Kilo cries out. The security ignores Kilo and continues to block us.

Clapping hands draw our focus behind us. "Well, Lieutenant, that was brave," a red-haired demon mocks as a group of ten enter the floor.

"What are you doing?!" I call to the guards as they do not even blink an eye. "They're demons!" The security does not respond and continues to block us from the transport.

"You see, Little Star, all the security personnel here are humans, and humans are, well, easily influenced," the demon smirks.

Kilo growls and draws his sword.

"Oh, Kilo, do you really think you can defeat me? You don't even have your wings, yet."

Kilo readies his sword in response.

"Miren," Kilo addresses our female ally. "Take care of Castyr for me?"

"Of course," Miren nods.

My heart drops as I hear their exchange. Miren grabs my wrist and begins dragging me away from Kilo.

"No...no, no, Kilo!" I reach for the angel.

Our eyes meet; those purple eyes are filled with determination and sadness.

"I'll be fine."

"No, you won't!"

"Go with Miren."

"Stop lying!!"

I scream and fight against Miren. The demons just watch with their heads tilted in curiosity and amusement. A single tear escapes my eye as Kilo turns around to face the demons alone. Miren drags me behind a column supporting the ceiling as the red-haired demon draws his sword. Miren fires at the security stationed behind us as they draw their guns.

"Castyr!" The woman calls my name.

I look up at her.

"Take this!" Miren says as she presses a gun into my hand.

My resolve strengthens as I feel the tool in my palm. Alright! I will fight the security! I will fight the demons and get Kilo on the transport! Grasping the gun firmly, I muster my courage and fight alongside Miren.
