A Party to Change Everything

The officer drove me back to Heng's house as if he had expected me back quickly, he was exactly where I had left him. One hand behind his back while the other stroking his beard with his other hand. I got out of the passenger side of the car, the cop looking uncertain as to what exactly took place, His nervousness was extremely apparent. He stopped me before I got too far away.

"Look young man I have no idea why Scott wanted you back so bad, but you need to watch your back as much as possible. Several officers do his bidding for whatever reason. I know you probably know him better than anyone. Just be a safe ok kid?" His eyes looked sad as if the man was trapped in a rock and a hard place.

He drove off, leaving me wondering exactly how much power Scott held in this city. I looked at Heng and bowed presenting him the paperwork he had given me for Scott to sign.

"Well, Jason I can tell that you showed mercy. In the future, that kindness may come back as pain in the end. You need to be careful; Others will not just sit idly by if you show such weakness." HE said in a quiet voice.

I looked at Heng in his dark brown eyes. I could see wisdom and pain that had been won through many of life's battles.

"My mother can rest in peace now, if he ever dares to raise a finger against me ever again, I will take his life without mercy. The only reason he lives is to appease her in the end, the last thing as her son that I could do before I take my first actual steps down this hard road that lies before me. Just in case I ever see her again you know?" I replied without breaking eye contact.

He seemingly studied me for a second and nodded.

"I can understand why then. I shall stand behind you then." Heng smiled as he welcomed me back into the mansion.

I was standing at the end of the staircase, her arms draped on the railing. Her eyes seemingly glinted the moment that she saw me.

"Looks like I owe Alexander fifty dollars now. Welcome back brat." She said with a grin.

I smiled back and nodded, I felt weird. As if more questions had come up than that had been answered. My mind was like a raging sea, conflicted feelings swam inside me. Do I give in to my primitive nature and show no mercy from here on out or do I continue being that conflicted little kid that couldn't stand up for himself? I quieted the voices of my inner demons; I knew that I had already made my choice. This world will be mine from here on out. I had suffered at other hands long enough. I steeled my nerves and took a deep breath; it was my time now and I needed to commit to this with every fiber of my being. I smiled; any doubts were just killed in my mind. I hadn't noticed Alexander appear behind me.

"Young master Jason, Heng has asked me to get you fitted for a custom suit, he says that you have a dinner to attend to tonight." He said startling me out of my thoughts.

"Of course, but no just appearing behind me please, I was lost in my thoughts, and you startled me," I said chuckling.

"I apologize young master however if this wasn't a thing constrained by time, I wouldn't have taken the approach I did." He replied with a sly smile.

"It's alright Alex. I appreciate your efforts." I replied quietly studying him.

Alexand was defiantly strange, His long gray hair always tied into a long ponytail, his grey beard trimmed neatly. His steel-grey eyes seemed to understand everything. He was kind yet there was something underneath all of that. I could detect a faint bit of energy from him. As I stared at him my eyes seemed to detect something.

"Master Jason it is considered extremely rude to detect someone's energy. kindly stop that please." Alexander said as he led me to the fitting room.

"I'm sorry Alex, I didn't even realize that I was doing that. I was just staring at you when whisps of grey and blue fog appeared around you. " I replied blinking.

The wisps disappeared and Alexander laughed.

"Young master I think very soon you're going to turn the world on its head. I can't wait to see the amazing feats you will be capable of in the future." He said without looking back.

His statement had me confused, though I kept it to myself. For the Next few hours Alexander took measurements of my body, the process was extremely uncomfortable. After an hour of waiting, Alex came out of a room attached to the fitting room. In his hands was a suite of the softest silk. He handed it to me and smiled at my utter shock at the quality of the materials.

"This suite is made only for you, it fitted for you to be able to be comfortable but able to fight if needed to be. Under the silk lining in the suite is ballistic fiber. It's strong enough to stop high-caliber rounds. Just in case you need that extra protection. The legs are also lined in the same fiber." He said as I took the suite.

I put it on, looking at my new self in the mirror. I cleaned up nice. Alexander helped me style my hair and made sure everything fit perfectly to my comfort.

"Is he ready?" Heng asked popping around the corner in a white tux with a red rose on his lapel.

"Yes sir, I must say the young master is extremely dashing." He replied bowing.

Heng smiled and clasped my shoulder.

"I am about to bring you fully into the world of ancient cultivation. You will see strange things that will have you questioning reality. You must always remember; to be respectful of those stronger than you and take no gruff from those weaker than you. If you must fight do so with conviction. Show no fear and you should be ok." Heng said as we walked out into the foyer. Yi Meng stood there in an extremely gorgeous gown, gold and glitter seemed to reflect any light around her. Her hair was done up in an extravagant style. Around her shoulders was a thin golden veil. She looked stunning.

"Wow," I uttered in shock at her beauty.

She smiled and laughed.

"You clean up pretty well yourself kid, just remember I'm your senior sister so keep any impure thoughts to yourself." She chuckled as she linked her arm with mine.

She had a very lovely rose smell coming from her. We walked to the car, and I opened the back door for her and Heng. I got in after them and Alex drove us. I listened to Yi Meng talk about who she was excited to see and who she was afraid would show up.

"Jason, there is a man who will try to hit on your senior sister, will you protect me?" She teased me.

"With every bit of strength that I have sister Yi," I replied without skipping a beat.

She giggled and punched my arm.

"Oh boy, my friends are going to eat you alive Jason." She managed to gasp between her giggles.

The drive seemingly took a long time. We took roads that seemed to have been forgotten by society, overgrown with years of neglect. Finally, we arrived at a large mansion that made Heng's look like a playhouse. A large collection of supercars and limited production vehicles were in the long drive lining it on both sides. We pulled in and I got out to open the doors For Yi Meng and Heng. We walked down the grey gravel drive up to the grand marble steps that lined the entry. A large heavy metal door stood between us and the party.

"Jason to gain entry here you must focus and put energy into the door for it to open," Heng said as he demonstrated as he placed his palm in the center of the door.

A small amount of glowing and the door seemingly disappeared, Heng walked through it and the door reappeared after he was through the doorway. Yi Meng also repeated and did the same. I took a deep breath and placed my hand on the cold steel door. I focused my energy and the door disappeared. I walked through it and rejoined them. The interior of the mansion could only be described as extravagant. Gold pillars lined both sides of the entryway, and a large man in a suit stood at a large oak door off to the left of the room. He bowed to YI Meng and Heng as we pushed the door open. We entered an extremely large ballroom. The ceiling was over twenty feet, and the room was massive. Yi Meng linked her arm with mine and we walked into the ballroom with all eyes on us. I could hear men whisper inquiries about who I was and several uttering threats under their breath, to which I responded by shooting daggers at them with my eyes which quickly shut them up. YI Meng took me to the middle of the dance floor and curtseyed to me.

"Young master Jason may I have this dance with you?" She asked looking towards the orchestra band that was sitting in one corner. The conductor nodded and signaled for them to play.

"Of course, Sister Yi I would be honored," I replied with a bow.

She smiled and grabbed my hand, she led me in a complicated dance, however, for whatever reason, I had no problem keeping up with her. I could feel every eye in the room focused on us as we swirled and twirled around and around. our movements in total sync, the feeling was amazing. As the song ended there was an eruption of applause. We bowed to the crowd and headed toward the tables that had a bunch of food on them. Yi Meng laughed as she tugged on my arm.

"Jason you were splendid, that was thrilling! Everyone was watching us the entire time!" She giggled.

A flock of a woman suddenly mobbed us and began asking YI Meng a bunch of questions about me.

"He is my new junior brother Jason." She replied.

Suddenly I felt a hand grip my shoulder. Not a nice grip more of a try to force me to my knees kind of grip. My hand instinctively grabbed whoever's wrist. I turned to see an extremely angry red-headed male. His golden tux shined brightly in the light.

"May I ask what your problem is young sir?" I asked politely without releasing his wrist.

"Damen knock it off, I already told you, I am not marrying you or dating you. I would rather not be involved with such a shameful person." Yi Meng sighed putting her face in her hands.

"Stay out of this Yi, our clans will be united. Who do you think you are! Unhand me you American loser! How could you have a chance with such a Chinese beauty as YI Meng!" He growled yanking his wrist a few times before I let go watching him fall on his backside.

He Howled in rage before standing up. He glared at me,

"You will pay for this! Do you know who I am? " He howled as he crouched.

His stance was weird to me, He stood in a crouched position one of his arms close to his chest and the other outstretched. His hands are in the shape of claws.

"Damen, I'm telling you that you don't want to do this." Yi Meng said glaring at him.

I held my hand up to stop her.

"I refuse to hide behind a woman. Thank you for your gesture sister Yi." I said taking my suit jacket off and handing it to her.

Heng was close by watching like a hawk, his eyes met mine and he nodded. I smiled as I stood in the stance. I looked at Damen, no fear in my heart. He sent out a palm strike, and I responded with my own. Golden light emerged from my palm as our palms connected. Damen was sent flying backward rolling a few feet. He tried to sit up, but I was already upon him. The terror in his eyes betrayed him as my palm strike hit him directly in the sternum. He was flung backward and coughed up a large amount of blood. Suddenly a thin hunched-over old man was standing between me and the young man.

"Young master may I ask you to spare my silly disciple. I would owe you one." The old man asked.

"This would be a one-time thing; I would like your guarantee that if he comes at me again that you won't get involved again out of respect for granting your request here today," I replied looking at the old man.

"Of course! I can guarantee that here today with everyone as witnesses. I appreciate the mercy you have shown young man, your future will be bright. May I ask your name?" He asked as a man picked up Damen and slung him over his shoulder.

"My name is Jason sir; may I ask who you are? I'm kind of new to this group of individuals." I asked bowing my head slightly.

The man looked at me with curiosity and smiled.

"My name is Grandmaster Li Jun." He said placing his fist in his palm.

The old man turned and walked away with the man carrying Damen. The old man scolded Damen for making dumb choices about fighting those who were stronger than him. Heng came over with a big grin on his face and slapped my back in excitement.

"Boy, you make one heck of a first impression amongst your peers. Damen's master is pretty understanding unlike some, so I think that was a perfect show of force and respect at the same time. Damen will forever remember this lesson. He however is one to worry about. I'm afraid he will hire someone stronger to fight back at you. Always remember there's always a bigger fish in the pond." Heng said watching the poor guy get berated by his master.

The flock of ladies were once again bombing YI Meng with questions about me, she flashed me a smile and mouthed thank you to me. I nodded and went on to enjoy the rest of the party without incident. Several others came up to me to congratulate me on my victory, including some that had whispered horrible things about me. I paid those guys no attention instead of focusing on those who had positivity about them. The rest of the night was extremely enjoyable, I danced a few more times with several of the group of ladies and ate wonderful food. Around midnight Heng gathered Yi Meng and me and we headed home. I was extremely tired after all the excitement. I passed out on YI Meng's shoulder.
