The Fall of a Son

I walked out of the building to the awaiting Isaac. In his hands was a nat. The moment he saw that I was out he pushed the trigger. Behind me, explosions and bright lights filled the night air. In the distance, we could hear sirens.

"Let's go, Isaac," I said without turning back.

The sounds of smaller explosions filled the air as we got into the vehicle and took off. In the rearview, I could see the glorious flames reaching the sky. Fire trucks showed up and began the fruitless battle of trying to put the flames out. We drove to the hospital and picked up Giggles.

"They are all safe, most were homeless people. I got recorded statements of each person. They didn't like me very much though. I wonder why?" She asked with a puzzled look.

"Might be the fact that you're a clown," Isaac replied with a chuckle.

"Hey, fuck you, people love clowns." She replied, sulking back into the seat.

"It's because you're ex-Black Lotus," I replied still watching the rearview.
