Consuming, Confusing

The men around them were too concerned with their own training to notice that the female had walked in, at least long enough for Ukko to explain what she was witnessing.

"Many of these males are too young to shift," he explained, tilting his head up at the eagles swarming in the skies. "That's why we have the birds and the cats train separately, because the young males really can't communicate. Plus they just start beating the shit out of each other."

Shuule stifled a laugh, first thinking that Ukko was joking, then seeing he was stone faced. "Uh why? I thought everyone got along in the city."

Ukko snorted, running his hands through his silver hair. "I, uh. Yeah, sort of I guess. We all have our place. But the birds are getting restless that our place has seemed to always be the soldiers and to never have a say in the politics. We're the second largest faction in the city, but we didn't have a say in the First City of Beasts, and we don't have one here, either."
