Trying to Read the World Today

Shuule momentarily forgot where she was, what she was doing, or how to act.

She squealed, her eyes lighting up, grabbing for the small red fruits in the bowl.

"I never thought I'd see these again! Where did you find these!"

The ram stood like a statue, except for a small head tilt, reminiscent of Set when he was trying to put something together.

"They aren't far. Well, they're all plucked now, but as you know, they keep fairly well. I would love to bring you more."

Shuule was hardly paying attention, chewing on the tart berries, frantically trying to pressure Anna into taking one from her. Anna had a pained expression already, sure that her tiger sensibilities would not want to eat these weird little berries. All the women liked sweet things, even if they were predators, cranberries were mostly used for tonics, juices, and fermented. She never dreamed of eating one raw.

"Thank you!" Shuule exclaimed, still ecstatic.
