Winter was slow. And cold. And stressful.
It was quiet, and they so far had not been bothered. For that, Shuule and Anna were thankful; Shuule was not sure if they would be able to stay in the woods without being attacked. Two females, and constant fire smoke, made for sticking out like a sore thumb. Males in the area definitely knew they were there, and every now and then, all the beasts at the camp with a good sense of smell would tense up, going on defense, scenting a stranger in the area.
So far, every time they did so, whatever male was creeping around the corners of the camp made the choice to not show themselves, and leave. The reality was, there were multiple formidable men to protect their two females. If a rogue male wanted to come into the cave and try to steal them, they would need to bring multiple other beasts with them, even if they were a four striped feral.
