Chapter Six: New Body

Fate felt a splitting headache, "Ow! What in the hell! Is this what it's like to reincarnate! Damn it!"

It wasn't just her head that was hurting. Her entire body felt sore. It might have just been because this was a new body. Fenrir said she'd be "put inside a body," And not "reincarnated," hence why she could feel and move her body better.

She opened her eyes only to be hit with total sunlight. She sat up, and looked again, taking in her surroundings.

It seemed as though she was inside some kind of ruins. She was laying on a cracked, stone floor. On all sides of her were stone walls in a similar condition. Some of the wall and ceiling had holes, letting in the sunlight.

Looking closer, it seemed as though she was in some sort of throne room. The hall was long and behind her, at the end, there was a large, broken down seat. The beautiful, stain glass windows on both sides of the room were all half destroyed and covered in foliage.

"Where in the world did that god drop me off? Wait… am I even in the same world? Probably not. In anime and manga, that's normally not how these things work," Fate said to herself.

Suddenly, Fate saw a flash of white at the edge of her vision. She looked behind to see a wolf-like tail coming out of her rear with silky white fur that turned black at the end. Fate's eyes widened in shock, as she quickly scurried over to a puddle of water.

Looking into it, Fate was completely shocked. Her aged seemed to have been reduced down to that of an eight-year old's. Her skin was soft and supple, making her want to pinch her own cheeks like an old lady.

On top of that, she wasn't even human anymore. Her hair was long, ragged, and white in color while her eyes held a golden glimmer. The ears on the sides of her head were gone, replaced by fluffy wolf-like ears on the top of her head, the same color as her head.

She looked down at her hands and feet and realized that they were covered in white fur up to her elbows and knees, with black inch-long claws in place of nails. She also saw that she was dressed in dirty, brown clothes, enhancing the wild look of her body.

Finally, smiling into the reflective puddle of water, she saw that her canines were almost double their original size, and super sharp. Even the rest of her teeth besides her molars looked like small blades. Fate realized that she looked like an absolute monster when she smiled.

"This is unreal! So that god reincarnated me as a beast person? No… he said that it was called a Fallen, right?"

Fate stood up and examined her body closer. She jumped up and down a few times, shadow boxes, and stretched down to touch her toes.

"This body is a lot stronger and more flexible than my old one when I was eight. Then again, that body was malnourished and wasn't part wolf."

She then closed her eyes and focused on her senses. She knew her sight had improved as she was almost blinded by the sunlight before. But, her hearing and smell were on a completely different level now. She could hear the sound of the grass outside the ruins as it rustled in the wind. She could smell the early-morning dew cover that grass as well.

She opened her eyes back up, "This is incredible. All of my senses are even greater than they were in my old body, and that's without any training. I can't imagine how much stronger I'll be once I've put in some work."

She brought up her arm, balled up her fist, and smiled. Fate had no idea why she was so excited right now, but it felt great. She was glad that she was actually feeling emotions again. In the facility, they were all but extinguished from her through the various tortures she endured. She was happy that she didn't just feel numb all the time.

"Hm… Fenrir did say that Fallen aren't particularly well-like here. I wonder if there a way to keep me from showing myself."

Suddenly, in response to her words and thoughts, she felt her body shift. Looking down she found that the fur on her body was gone, replaced by unhealthily-white skin. The claws on her hands and feet shrunk back into nails, but we're still black in color and a bit sharp. She looked into the pool to see that her wolf ears had been replaced by normal human ears. And her teeth had become normal, with the exception of her canines which were still a bit long and quite sharp.

"This is crazy. So all I have to do is think and my appearance changes even closer to that of a human's. Cool. Although, I feel a lot more comfortable in my other form than I do in this one."

She thought about it again, and she shifted back to her normal form. Then she noticed something internally about her body. There was a strange warmth coursing through her. She hadn't felt anything like it. But it felt natural. She could move it around her body as easily as she could move her tail.

"Is this magic, or maybe Fenrir's blessing? Either way it feels nice."

Suddenly, a sound within the ruins caught her attention. It was still a ways away, but her keen senses were able to catch it, and she quickly prepared for a fight.
