Chapter8 The lady

The lady!

****

The bell had rang it indicated closed of the day, Finn had been feeling exhausted ever since he got physical with Matt. He walked over to his locker and opened it swiftly since needed to be home with his mother, she had just texted that she had been stung by a bee. There was a red postcard that laid on his books, he paused to give a second thought of how he acquired a postcard. It had been moist and warm like it had been inside a hole or something. He opened it slowly in expectation of that usual scare story, it reads.

*I got stung*

*She got stung*

*We got stung; by a bee Finn.*

He couldn't fathom the context of the card, he then remembered mother being stung by a bee but she wouldn't send a postcard about such a thing, he reasoned. On the right hand side of the card right at the top, there was another writing which stated 'Turn to the back' which he did without a second thought.

*YOU ARE CHOSEN FINN, WHY RUN?*

Were the words then another below it which stated 'Turn around'. He subconsciously turned.

He screamed due to the fear in him, the feminine spooky figure in white and tattered hair scared him almost to death.

"Uh Finn?" Lindsey called, she had been the one standing behind him but that wasn't what he was seeing, he was seeing the feminine figure, her face was covered with the stands of her hair then she lifted her both hands that had moving worms eating her flesh while her dark blood dripped to the floor, pointing at him. Her fingers elongated as though there were going to plunge his eyes, her legs had the same worms eating the flesh on her legs as well as blood dripping, her toes were eaten up except for the big toes that seemed sharp on the edges, the more he screamed out the more she drew closer to him also hearing the echoes of someone calling out his name repeatedly from far and near.

"Finn!" Lindsey called out then he got startled, he whimpered because of the fear that gripped his heart and whole body, it was just like his entire system had ceased to function.

He stopped looking around him then he realized that he had been holding pencils on both hands pointing to her face, she looked disturbed and confused just as he was.

"Finn its me, Lindsey!" She felt that there was a need to mention her just in case he had been in a trance. "It's just me," She added. The pencils in his hands fell to the ground while his eyes widened in shock, there was no way Lindsey was standing there all along. She gently put down his arms, that was when he realized that they were hurting and students were staring in confusion. He looked at Lindsey's arms, she seemed unhurt, her legs were unhurt and not even her hair was ruffled neither was there a pool of blood or stenches on the floor or her mini dress, in fact her feet were covered in a pair of black boots.

"Are you okay?" She asked with an attempt to touch his arm but he retracted and she understood why. "I get it." She snapped.

He turned to his locker, there wasn't a postcard neither was there a sign that there had been one. He closed it gently and turned to her again, he must be dreaming he said to himself.

"Can we talk?" She asked, her voice depicted her desperation to do so but it wasn't just about his anger towards her, it was the fact that he had just seen ghostlike lady and not Lindsey.

"Get away from me, you are not Lindsey." He said fastening his steps while she followed trying to convince him that she was and that he needed to act calmly because he was acting weird and students were looking and others were even laughing.

"Finn! Finn!!" She called and this time he had ran out through the exit doors, running into school premises. She quickly texted Jack that Finn was acting really weird and she needed his help. He ran as fast as he could to get the school gate that seemed way too fear, his heart was pounding faster, the voices In his head repeatedly reminded him that she wasn't Lindsey neither were the students normal humans but rather carnivores, his legs were trembling and quivering in fear of what he believed something was on the chase, haunting him.

Jack ran into Finn until they both landed on the grass. Finn was strongly trying to retract from Jack's grip.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" He screamed out with his eyes closed.

"Finn. Its me Jack...Finn look at me," Jack tapped Finn's cheek, Lindsey joined in as soon as she sighted them on the grass.

"Finn it's us, look at us! Open your eyes." Lindsey said hitting lightly to stop screaming. Little by little, Finn's voice faded into silence and calmness, both his friends had overpowered him as well as his fear. He was motionless suddenly, and Lindsey had began to sob in fear of something might have happened to him. Jack too, was scared but he had to act strong for Lindsey who couldn't get a hold of herself and her tears.

"We should have never ignored him,"

"It wasn't our fault Lindy, we had the right to be mad---" Jack insisted

"Then how did it help," she asked in tears while Jack turned away still trying to revive Finn, shaking him as hard as he could.

"Fuckin call 911!" Jack raised his voice at Lindsey who sat who knelt beside him with her face buried in her hands, crying. Jack's system had already been clutched in fear and uncertainty of Finn's state.

She pulled out her phone and dialed the number until someone answered, as usual asking what was the emergency. She tried to compose herself and her speech

"Our friend is lying motionless on the ground, he's not waking...yes he's breathing but I'm confused, it seems like he ain't...I'm trying to FUCKIN calm down...Springville High...just COME okay..." She yelled cutting the call then she flung her phone sideways. Jack looked at her to know what they had said

"They'll be here in 10…" then nodded curtly, he went over to her and squatted next to her and pulled her in for a hug.

"We got this...he got this too! He's not leaving us A'ight?!" He assured her
