Erin wanted to give her daughter, Charlie, a normal childhood, but Charlie isn't a normal child. Charlie and her mother are both witches. After escaping government captors, Erin gave birth on the run and spent many years moving Charlie from town to town to avoid being locked up and experimented on. When Charlie started high school, Erin made a promise they wouldn't move again until she had graduated. Now, they've made it to senior year without issue but when a new kid shows up at school, Charlie notices something strange about him. In order to uncover the truth, she begins acting out of character and going behind her mother's back to handle everything on her own. Charlie's reckless behavior opens the door for trouble to quickly find them once again. With Erin as her teacher, Charlie still has a lot to learn before she is ready to face the unknown evils that have been after them for all these years.

       When Max finally returns to school, a few days have passed and my anger has started to build. The anger mixing with the paranoia that was already high does not make for a pleasant Charlie.


	“Where the hell have you been, Maximus?” I call him out on his behavior using his full name and I get some strange looks as I storm toward him in the cafeteria. Emily looks like she is going to be very entertained by this confrontation. Elizabeth looks a bit worried. “Where have you been the past few days and why are you in here now but you weren’t in any of our classes before lunch?” I drop into the seat in front of him and narrow my eyes at him. I wait for a response and when he doesn’t respond right away I reach across the table and snap my fingers in his face. I know it’s a very bitchy thing to do but he’s been gone for days and part of me was worried and the other part was mad.
