Chapter 14: Hunting

COHEN

I stared out the passenger window at the mansion as we left. The sun was setting and the lights in the windows glowed from within.

I loved my house and my clan. I hated having to leave them so much because of these stupid feral vampires, but I hated it even more now that Ellie was inside. I didn’t want to talk to her or spend time with her, but I wanted to see her and be close to her.

I was a mess, and it was all her fault.

“The warriors are already out patrolling?” I asked Lance.

He nodded. “They went out at five and are stationed in high traffic areas. That seems to be where the packs are moving toward.”

I could just picture a pack of ferals taking down a bus or a subway car. This situation was out of control and getting worse with every passing day. I’d waited too long to act.

I’d thought it was just a few unrelated incidents, but there was no denying they were connected now.
