Cohen's lips crashed into mine.
His hands grabbed my hips and he hoisted me onto his lap without ever breaking our kiss. His
grip on my hipbones was strong and forceful and his lips matched.
I pressed my palms against his chest and curled my fingers into him. He was rock hard all over,
and I loved the feel of his muscles under my hands.
Our lips moved against each others at a frantic pace.

Ellie’s tear-stained face looked up at me and I squeezed her to me, hating the hurt in her eyes.


I shook my head. “It had to be done. Nothing else was working.”


Ellie nodded, and she looked down, pressing her forehead against my chest.


Ellie sighed and shook her head. “I’d rather bake.”


I chuckled and squeezed her tighter. “Whatever you want.”


I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and walked her out of the room. Ellie kept her eyes down, but in the hall vampires gathered and watched her.


One by one, their heads bowed with respect.


It was the final thing they’d been waiting for to fully accept her as their Queen.


She did something we all knew she didn’t want to. Something that hurt her to do but was in everyone’s best interest.


The only thing standing in her way of becoming Queen was me.
